Yes meGrin

We are very excited too.

I am slightly worried about not being able to take drinks in as Dd3 drinks gallons and is very fussy but I am trying not to worry about it.

We are too. Really looking forward to it. Kids really excited but I think they don't really understand what they are excited about. Dd asked today if there are slides at the Olympic swimming pool Grin

I took DS2 to the rowing today and we have two lots of paralympic tickets too.

He was a bit bemused but loved the noise and cheering. Had a fab time and is really looking forward to the next two.

The rowing was very easy to get to but food was a problem for him tbh. But the sessions were only two hours. He had to suck it up. We nipped into the first place to eat as soon as we got off the water taxi-thingy.

We are getting the train on the fri evening (picnic on train) then staying at a hotel near tower bridge so that we can get up early for our 10am athletics session. We will probably let them have macdonalds Blush for lunch. Both are happy with bottled water so can buy that.
Our attitude is that we are going to offer them a once in a lifetime experience. If they get bored/ can't cope with the noise we will come home early. At least we will have tried.

I have just booked disabled parking at the Olympic Park, i'm going to drive, will mean a late night back as we are about 2 hrs away.
The booking was confusing, i'm not sure what i have booked or if we will still have to get on a shuttle bus from the disabled parking to the swimming pool.

Also not sure if i get sent further details, have tried phoning them but cnat get through so will try again tomorrow.

I am booked into Hargreaves scout camp in Romford, they are taking bookings from Guide and Scout leaders and their familiies just for the olympic/paralympics. I was so happy I checked because I was starting to panic about travelling. I am staying 2 nights either side of our day at the paralympics.

We have athletics tickets for the morning and swimming in the evening so have the afternoon to mooch around the olympic park.

I have just had another look at the rules about drinks and it seems you can take up to 10 100ml bottles of liquid in so I will buy some little bottles and put some of Dd3's squash neat into them and add it to the water inside.
She will currently only drink Asda Grape and Peach Hi juiceGrin
Although if I have a bottle of water she will quite often drink thatHmm

ineedaflippinmedal - I'm an EastLondon girl originally (not that far from Romford really) so if all else fails i'll park at a friends & get a cab!

I'm going! Grin

hazeyjane · 31/07/2012 06:28

we have tickets for the athletics.

If you can't get through on the phone, e-mail them. I did because I was worried about not being able to take a buggy in and they have been really helpful, saying they will loan us a wheelchair when we get there.

My friend went to the Olympic yesterday and said there were tons of water stations, so I guess if you take up squash in one bottle and empty bottles you should be able to fill up. She also said that MacDonalds is definitely the cheapest and easiest option for eating when in there.

SallyBear · 31/07/2012 14:00

Thanks Hazey. I will have a look. How are your gorgeous DC? Smile

hazeyjane · 31/07/2012 14:34

They are lovely, thankyou Smile

How are the Summer holidays for you so far?

SallyBear · 31/07/2012 14:45

We were in The Gower last week. The weather was glorious. So far so good this week. Very quiet, which is nice so I can try and watch the Olympics!!

MissBetseyTrotwood · 31/07/2012 16:21

Yes! And we are very excited. There are tickets left. We're off to the Athletics in the main stadium in September. For our day (3rd Sept) there were tickets left at all prices too - so from a tenner to 40 quid I think. Yay!

Ineedaflippinmedal · 31/07/2012 16:43

Thanks for the info about water stations.

I was thinking of starting a thread for olympic/paralympic survival tips.Grin
