Or could this be it?
Quiet first week to the holidays. Ds has been remarkably chilled and dd has been bothering her sister instead of me for a change.I'm supposed to be packing as we're off to Filey and Scarborough for a fortnight tomorrow.Decided to get away whilst the kitchen and Bathroom are refitted and the house is rewired leaving eldest ds in charge.

Hi Insanity. Smile

Fortnight in North Yorks sounds lovely. Hope the weather is good for you.

Had a quiet week with just DS2 and DS3, as DS1 was away in France with his friend's family. Despite the good weather, DS2 has managed hours on the computer! Have spent time at the outdoor pool, had haircuts, bought new school shoes so slightly busy. Been to Heathrow today to collect DS1, and they are off to Turkey with dickhead for a week on Tuesday. I'll be decorating DS1's room (for the first time since I was pregnant with him! Think unisex nursery colours, yellow and green!) He's requested red, navy or black, so I'm compromising with a red 'feature' wall and cream with navy curtains.

moosemama · 27/07/2012 19:28

Evening insanity, I reckon everyone's off watching the Olympics. Ds1 has insisted we have it on and I am sick of it already. He just had a meltdown because I said he's not allowed to stay up and watch the opening ceremony. I feel a bit mean, but all 3 dcs are under the weather and none of us have had enough sleep this week, so I really don't want them up late.

Sounds like your first week has gone OK. How lovely as well to go away and come back to a refitted kitchen and bathroom. If I win the Euromillions tonight I may do the same! Grin

Other than that, I have er .. odd news. Called the LEA this week following my meeting with the school re ds's writing NC levels. They totally floored me by agreeing to a load of my part 3 amendments - including qualified and experienced support with emotional literacy. I was almost rendered speechless. She made a load of the changes over the phone, then offered to approach the EP to discuss tighter wording and qualifications for the emotional literacy bit. Exactly one week ago the same SO told me that they absolutely wouldn't be making any more amendments and it didn't matter if the EP agreed with me, because if she hadn't clearly stated it in her SA report it wasn't going in. Confused

Need one more sweep through to make sure I haven't missed anything and then we will be finalising. Not 100% happy with absolutely everything, but now feel it's workable and will provide for ds's needs. Going to go ahead with the SALT assessment, as recommended by Leonie and take those reports with me to AR (which will be in the Autumn term, due to secondary transition) to try and make it even tighter before secondary. If they refuse at that point it may still mean an appeal, but as we've come so far it's actually miles off the crap proposed we originally received.

Feel like I can finally look forward to my holiday now.

In other news, the boys have finally broken up, although ds2 was off sick for all but the last day of term and only went in then against my better judgement. He's better than he was, but still not right and I'm expecting a second course of anti-bs when he finishes this lot.

LollipopViolet · 27/07/2012 19:46

Evening all :)

I'm exhausted - spent the day with my friend and her 11mo DS. Mostly spent chasing him round the living room (he has one crawling speed - lightning quick!) and retrieving him from places/things he shouldn't be near.

Also found out I can do an AAT Level 1 course in accounting through the job centre this August, so that's good.

Ineedaflippinmedal · 27/07/2012 19:52

Hi all,hope everyone is OK.

We have well and truely chilled here, the Dd's have bounced on the trampoline, played in the paddling pool and been kayaking 3 times this week.

I have managed to find a scout camp that we can stay at when we go to the paralympics so that is one more thing sortedSmile

Dd3 has become obsessive over the TV and TV buttons this week and her and Dd2 had a fight over the buttons this eveningSad. I cant wait to go camping again next week to get away from the dam telly.

Hope everyones weekend goes okSmile

insanityscratching · 27/07/2012 20:01

LIO has emailed me dd's amended statement that she wants me to agree so we can finalise it but that is definitely waiting until I get back.
Ellen make sure you fit in time just for you whilst the boys are away.
Moose glad to hear the LA are being reasonable I let slip to LIO ds's statement was sorted and he was settled in his specialist school so I could concentrate on dd's now Grin just so that she was forewarned not to try messing with me Grin Where are you going on holiday?

signandsmile · 27/07/2012 20:02

Hi all, sounds like the week hasn't been too bad, I have done 450 miles in 3 days for work, Hmm Shock but that means vast majority of student work is done hurrah! Grin

Ds has been on wind down from the year, (so very shouty and clingy/squeezy and lots of ecoalia) and DMiL collapsed today, Sad think it maybe just heat? but dh has trundled off to London for the weekend to keep an eye on her...

NoHaudinMaWheest · 27/07/2012 20:03

Hi all.
Moose good news. Hope it all goes through smoothly now and that you can enjoy the holiday.

Insanity enjoy your holiday.

Lollipop there is nothing more exhausting than an active baby. I used to wish the medics had invented energy transfusions.

Ellen yes hours on the computer here too (when he isn't spending hours in the bathroom).

Not much to report here. DD is really getting into the Olympic spirit which is a bit surprising as she isn't all sporty. I have managed to get her onto a young carers activity week next month which will really help to break up her holiday. With DS's OCD so bad I don't think we will get away and my mobility and energy levels are too low to do many outings, so this week should prevent her from watching too much TV. I hate the term young carer because she doesn't do any caring, but her life is affected by DS's SN and my disability.

Tiggles · 27/07/2012 20:08

3 very excited boys here, all in sleeping bags ready to watch the opening ceremony. DS1 is fairly obsessed with the olympic fencing team (his sport), hope he gets to see his heroes tonight!

CillaSlack · 27/07/2012 20:10

Hi all, hope everyone's had a good week. It's surprising how the lack of school has reduced ds's anxiety levels Hmm and it's been a fairly calm week.
I know the Olympics is a bit boring to some and I'm not usually bothered myself but this time next week I will be in the stadium yay!!! Not looking forward to the tube trains though.

moosemama · 27/07/2012 20:26

Thanks Insanity and NoHaudin.

We are going to South East Ireland, to stay in the family holiday home - same as we do every year. Ds1 loves it and totally destresses while we are there so it's worth dh and I being heartily bored with the place just to get the downtime.

We aren't going just yet, which is good because I am having to pace myself carefully at the moment, so I'll need extra time for packing.

Ineed, we have had similar battles over the remote. Even if they want to watch the same programme they argue over who gets to hold the remote. Hmm Never used to be a problem as ds2 was too lazy to figure out how the two remotes interact, but he got it sussed while he was off sick last week and now the worm has turned.

NoHaudin, I hope your dd enjoys her activity week. Sorry you won't be getting a break though. I imagine you could really do with it at the moment.

LittleMissGreen, we have relented and are allowing the boys to stay up for the opening ceremony. Ds1 was just so desperate to see it that I didn't have the heart to make him go to bed. So they're both washed and pj'd up and sitting here watching the pre-amble desperate for it to start.

Cilla, how exciting going to the actual stadium. I think I might be more interested if it was a bit more 'real' to us rather than pictures on a screen, iyswim. Mind you, I have always hated watching other people play sport. I've always enjoyed sport myself, just not watching others. I really struggle to be enthusiastic about ds1's cricket sometimes.

LollipopViolet · 27/07/2012 20:39

NoHaudin, it's proven to me I'm not QUITE ready for a child of my own! But, the main thing is I get to see my friend, she gets the presence of another adult, and (very occasionally now, as he prefers climbing things...) I get soft squishy cuddles from my little friend :) Who, despite having to be retrieved from climbing tables every 2 nanoseconds so often, is adorable :)

An energy transplant, that'd be great!

moosemama · 27/07/2012 21:00

Missed your post Lollipop.

Course sounds hopeful?

I am very broody at the moment (think it's because dd starts nursery in September and I've had to buy her uniform Sad) and am therefore extremely Envy of your squishy cuddles.

Forgot to say earlier. Ds2 had his physio assessment about his hypermobility this week and it was really good. Lovely physio, agreed that 'lax ligaments' is a symptom not a dx, the consultant was wrong and pronounced ds super-bendy before taking his details and our family history off to discuss with a colleague who specialises in EDS and hypermobility syndrome. We have a double appointment next week to follow up. So relieved that someone finally seems to be listening.

Dh has just come back from the shop with popcorn for the dcs to eat while watching the opening ceremony - much excitement in the Moose household! Grin

2old2beamum · 27/07/2012 21:36

Too knackered it is the first week of school holidays.
So far fighting DD2's ESA so much paperwork.
DD5 wheelchair totally buggered handles snapped off, can't walk.Stuck inside for W/E with 5DC's

Old Fart (DH) grumpy hope you all have a better time than us
Love to you all Sad

moosemama · 27/07/2012 21:38

Oh no 2old. What a start to the holidays. You poor thing.

Hope you have a relaxing weekend to make up for it and that next week is better.

moosemama · 27/07/2012 21:39

Just had to come back and:

PedanticPanda · 27/07/2012 21:45

Hi all, happy Friday night

PedanticPanda · 27/07/2012 21:54

Oops, sorry I think I just killed the thread... Blush

EllenJaneisnotmyname · 27/07/2012 22:03

You're fine, pedantic! We're all just watching the Olympics!

PedanticPanda · 27/07/2012 22:16

Haha as long as it isn't me then! I tried to watch it, lasted 5 minutes and had to turn it off, it was awful. I just found out a couple of days ago that I'm pregnant so am lost without my Friday night wine - it would have made the Olympics far more interesting!

moosemama · 27/07/2012 22:37

It's not you Panda. Quiet night on here tonight while we all watch the opening ceremony.

Congratulations! Smile

Ds1 is refusing to go to bed because the childrens' fiction flipping hospital beds and demonic beings section scared him half to death. Ds2 is as bad, refusing to go upstairs on his own. Hmm

I really wasn't expecting there to be anything scary in the opening ceremony of the olympics ffs. Wish I'd stuck to my guns and not let them stay up now.

Dh has just marched them all upstairs together, but they're refusing to have the light off and ds1 is insisting he's terrified.

PedanticPanda · 28/07/2012 00:16

Aw that's a shame Moose, I hope they got settled eventually. I gave in and ended up watching some of it, I was quite impressed with the people on the bikes with the wings!

moosemama · 28/07/2012 00:52

Thanks Panda, they're sadly still awake at the moment - we're in for trouble tomorrow with both of them exhausted.

I thought it was good, despite being very anti to begin with. Shame they wheeled Macca out at the end though. Hmm

BeeMom · 28/07/2012 00:55

Well, I have to admit I enjoyed the opening ceremonies.
