minutes from meeting not accurate

had a big meeting with the lea a week ago where they refused to accept any of the evidence that our evidence that our son needs a special school including from the school and professionals. hes only in school in the mornings due to vomiting

anyway the minutes have come and quite a lot of comments been missed out including where they say its not about the money but getting the right placement and basically misconstruing what we said so makes it look like we agree that if autism outreach come in and work with him then we will let him stay at his current school even though the school repeatedly have said they cannot meet his needs. this is probably heading to tribunal so i need these minutes to be 100% accurate as it is going to come back and haunt me at a later date - there is so much that has been missed off. i find it difficult to believe that they would be so decietful as part of me wanted to believe that they are being honest and try and have a open working relationship with them. i know if i amend the minutes i run the risk of getting their backs up but im so angry that they have distorted everything. even at the end when they promised they would contact the school current head - they missed that out and of course to date they have not yet contacted the head. they put in that we need to get a referral form from the school for autism outreach to come in - the lea said that the form was sent to the school and the school have never returned it - since then i have spoken to the school and the school confirmed no form has ever been sent to them! so much missing that i just despair meanwhile a 8 year old boy has been left in limbo

That's one of the reason that I always try to take someone with me, sot that they can take the minutes, to avoid such "misunderstandings". I would politely point out the omissions, and circulate a correct(ed) version to all that attended.

I would simply put in writing a "thank you for the minutes but these corrections need to be made/omissions added" letter. At least you have been seen to act now rather than appearing to change the story at a later date when you dispute the minutes. Even if they refuse to change the minutes you can then show that you didn't agree at the time if you need to refer to these or the LEA try to use them against you somehow.
