Just as the title says really. I am
Preg with dc3, due in October, I am on my own, so don't have the option of a partner pushing ds's wheelchair as I wheel the pram etc?? My ds is severely disabled and cannot walk or talk etc. I wondered about double buggies I could maybe buy? Looked at the mountain buggies , could Anyone advise me?

i'd look for slings and carriers, lovely and snuggly for baby in October and the winter months

Triggles · 18/07/2012 17:16

duct tape? Grin

no seriously, I'd look for double buggies if possible, depending on your ds's size of course. I'm not a huge fan of slings tbh as so many people use them unsafely.

I only make the duct tape comment after a few too many wrestling matches trying to coordinate my 2 (3 yrs apart) when they were younger. (they're 5 and 2 now, and still have those days!!)

The temptation to duct tape them together into one big buggy is pretty huge some days. Grin

Oh, me again... I've seen somewhere some SN buggies (when we were looking for one for DS2) that fit 2 children. They were pretty pricey though and not sure what ages they were appropriate for... if I can find them again, I'll post it.

Woot... found it!! here's one link, there's a couple different ones on it...

The tom cross tandem one on there seems quite nice.

Aww ty both of you Grin that is very helpful. Was thinkin bout a sling but I can't use one for the whole time the baby is gonna be in pram/buggy. I like those buggies you posted a link to triggles. Thank you Grin my ds's social worker has given me details of a buggy that's similar to the Tom one. But it's ugly in all honesty lol Smile I like the look of the mountain double buggy and it does up to age 8 which is great. Would only be used for weekends and stuff as my ds starts school at the end of August x

If you can afford it, I'd get a variety of options for different scenarios.
My DS1 was still in a pushchair (to stop him running away) when I had my youngest. I had 2 slings - One like this for short walks, kept it in the car mostly for popping into shops etc. The other one was like this for longer walks, you can keep it on and pop the baby in and out, rather than having to re-wrap it every time.
They're also useful around the house when the baby is crying and you're too busy with other kids to do anything with it, mine used to shut up and doze off as soon as he went in the sling. I used to be able to change DS1's nappy on the floor with the DS2 strapped to my chest!
Plus tandem buggy for other times obv.
