NEED an old pro to help with wording on sons school report - ADHD

I posted about ADHD statement criteria last week. Thanks for all replies. I am required to make comments on my sons school report and am struggling to be constructive and positive as feel totally pissed off. Basically, report says no progress in 2 academic years in maths and literacy. Reading up one sub-level - is at the end of year 4. Reports points out the bleedin obvious ... poor concentration, memory, easily distracted blah blah blah. Drowning in maths group apparently and they've left him there all year - WTF!! Anyway, I am applying for a statement myself as they say he's not bad enough and won't meet criteria blah blah. I need help to make a note at bottom of his report to say .... All weaknesses listed are part o his diagnosis, he's obviously not getting right/enough support, his needs are only 'complex' cos there are 35 kids in his class etc. Needs to be constructive and appropriate and I just don't have the tact to present it this way as soooo angry. Any help or wording much appreciated.

I would write somthing along the lines of:

I am disappointed and very concerned at the lack of progress my son has made. I consider that he needs as significant increase in his current levels of support to assist him to overcome the difficulties he experiences due to his complex needs.

Or summat like that Grin

I'm with Wet.
"Ds has failed to make adequate progress with the help currently in place. This indicates to me that he needs significant additional support in order for him to access the national curriculum due to his complex needs. We would like to meet with the school urgently with a view to putting appropriate support into place"

MadameSin - sure our DS aren't in the same class?!!! DS1 also end of yr 4, 35 in class - which believe me, does contribute to the attitude of the teacher.
Our report - although different, also had criticisms - also in the HT comment - that are directly related - and symptoms - of his dx. My blood has been boiling since I read it.
What I would also add to the 2 good suggestions above is that these are part of your DS's records, and it reflects on both you and DS. Anything you put in writing might be twisted to use as and required. So neat, professional, to the point, no opportunity to mis-construe - as with any further correspondence - all in writing.

Thank you all for replies. Am feeling a lot calmer now and have constucted an appropriate, constructive note on his report. Let's see what next year brings!
