Posted on here a few times about ds and his behaviours and issues. CAMHS said ds has aspergers and to be honest after so long i was glad to have a diagnosis. Had a meeting today with them and they want to have another look at ds with a view to changing diagnosis! Ds is calm, has lots of friends, follows the rules in school out of school he is a nightmare very violent, flips over the smallest thing, prefers to eat alone, hates anyone else being in the house, smears and wees everywhere, cannot stand busy places, will not go to sleep at a reasonable time, has night terrors, cannot write as refuses to, will not talk to any one outside house and is obsessed michael jackson (watches his dvds for hrs) and has a weird obsession with licking things. Ds is 7. I asked camhs what they were looking for and they said they would rather not say at this point and have asked to see him monday in another camhs centre so a different team could look at him. All they said was "there is something wrong with his biological and phsyological make up that has been there since birth" i cant sleep as so worried as i thought we were on the home run now it feels like we are back at the begining.Any advice most welcome and needed.

Didnt want to leave your post unanswered...

My ds has a dual dx of ASD&ADHD, possibly Camhs are thinking along those lines, not saying ADHD but something in addition to Aspergers.

I would contact them again, its really unprofessional of them to leave you hanging on like this, especially after the relief of getting a dx of Aspergers.

Best of luck!

There are many things that run alongside ASD/AS including ADHD, touretes, PDA, ADD (to name a few). Its wrong that they have not givem you some clue to what they are assessing him for.

I would just tell them that you are happy to go through the assessment process with your DS, however, you expect them to open and up front about what they are looking for and what it's regarding, so that you understand what's going on. He is your child and you have a right to know IMO.
