i know its only small compared with lots you are going through... but my little man sobbed on the TA throughout, (not his own one, as they had sent her away with another class outing today Angry Angry ) he knew the words and sang them with gusto at rehersals. School say it was cos he saw us there, (this might not have helped), but i think 30 - 90 other children and 40 - 50 parents might had something to do with it!!!!!!! Shock

my poor lad Sad

today was tough for all of us, and i know you guys will understand when so mant friends dont.

It happens a lot.

awww bless him :(

Rehersals are one thing and chaotic at the best of times but to be facing a hoard of adults staring at you is a whole new experience dear of him.

Oh dear, sorry to hear that.
It was probably far worse for you than him!

Ah. We have ds' on Monday afternoon. I'm dreading it. The last one he skipped around the stage while the other kids were singing, pulled 'funny' faces and then decided it was too noisy and buggered off leaving dd and I to listen to the rest of the dull offerings.
Tempted not to attend but I know he would be upset to look out at a sea of parents and not see me.

thanks guys, I think its annoying me that school don't get the sensory issues, (they just think its volume of noise, and cos he wore his ear defenders would have been ok...)

he sobbed in my arms for 15 mins after the concert saying I go home I go home!! taken off back inside with CT at that point and was ok afterwards (she said).

christmas concert was 'interesting' too, Sad ah well he's done really well otherwise this year,

will see what we can do over the next year to check if it is our prescence or sensory thing, if sensory stuff he will unfortunately be ill for future performances, (he won't mind) and if they don't believe me they will have to prove me wrong... !

I wouldnt go to the next one and get a neighbour to video it if you have permission. Or do you have a classroom door off the hall that you can peek through to watch from a distance?

DS wouldnt do rehersals or go in anything. We have suggested that the new school involve him in perhaps painting the scenery, handing out programmes at the beginning so he can disapear and perhaps come back to hold doors open for people leaving (he likes seeing people leave LOL)
