DS2 got 4s in his SATS

I'm over the moon as the one in English is a good 4 Smile His teacher was so proud of him too. The reading part didn't fair so well as there are a lot of inferences in the questions apparently but he made up for it with the other parts.

He's in the process of being diagnosed with ASD. He's had problems in school, mainly being disruptive laughing and pulling faces, but has obviously worked hard.

He's away with the school tomorrow for his first overnight stay. I'm pretty worried as he has bad nights. Thinks snakes are on him Sad But I have warned the teachers and exdh is on standby to go and get him. His teachers were very keen for him to go which is nice. I asked his main teacher if I could put snacks in his bag, she winked and said 'I know nothing about the midnight feasts' Grin then said just put what you want in his bag.

That's brilliant! Well done Curiousboy! Smile You should be proud of him.

CuriousMama · 10/07/2012 19:22

We are, very proud of him. DS1 said 'I got 5s and you didn't say much about that' Ermmm yes I did but he's classed as G&T (although I don't like that term neither does he) I think he can get a bit taken for granted though bless him but he does get lots of attention too.

That's great!

DS1 struggles with inferences in the reading tests, too.

littlelegsmum · 10/07/2012 19:27

Well done mini curious. No wonder your proud. I'm still waiting for dd's Hmm

CuriousMama · 10/07/2012 20:00

I know, I'm forever having to explain stuff. He can either find something funny for no reason, start laughing for no apparent reason then he'll take you the wrong way and get annoyed over nothing?

Leonie, the expected grade for end of Y3 is 2a or 3c. For the end of Y4 it's 3b, for the end of Y6 it's 4b. About 20% get a level 5 for writing in Y6, maybe 40% get level 5 in reading and maths. So, her reading is excellent, her maths very good and her writing on target! Well done!

CuriousMama · 10/07/2012 22:08

Awww sorry I didn't think about errant smileys. Sleep well Leonie.

Leonie, with a statement she can have 25% extra time in Y6 SATs, which have a time limit.

CuriousMama · 10/07/2012 22:51

DS2 didn't finish 4 pages in numeracy. He doesn't have a statement though.

Curiousboy is off now for his overnight stay, first time away from family overnight. He was fine about it. Me and one other mum stopped to wave them off. Other mum's dd came out to wave to her and say bye strongly Grin I managed to drag other mum away before the bus came.

Does she have many friends at school? Ds2 has now but struggled for most of his years.
