Going private!

Dd1 has got her place at the local private school. We are very excited and she has her first visit tomorrow.
We are really hoping this works for her, tbh it can't be worse than the state crap we have had to deal with :(
Small classes of 12, individual learning programmes and a moto that says "it's ok to be different" sold it to us :)

good luck to your dd Smile

both my dds are at private - dd1 at an independent SN school, and dd2 in a prep school as she needs the smaller classes, and higher attention rate (lots of traits - we'll see where she ends up, but she is not entirely NT)

hope all goes well for her, and that the school lives up to its motto Smile

What a great moto lisad, good luck with the school visit tomorrow.Smile

I hope your Dd settles well, I moved my dd3 last year and it was the best thing ever. she is so much happier.

That's great, Lisad. Smile Is it a SS or inclusive MS?

lisad123 · 03/07/2012 22:04

We're moving ds to a private school in September. Maximum class size 18, literacy and maths will be taught in a group of 9 with a teacher and TA and a really firm timetable for each day. Am hoping it will make a real difference for ds. He certainly couldn't be any less interested in school so any improvement has got to be good.

Hope it went well today Lisad! :)

lisad123 · 04/07/2012 15:15

It seemed to. Dd1 had two little wobberly moments which they dealt with. They now have a meeting to discuss if they think they can meet her needs and call to confirm tomorrow (didn't know about this bit till today)!
Hopefully they will see with small classes and good routine she will do very well. Her current school have written a supportive letter too so hopefully that will help Grin

wobbly moments are expected on the first day :)

Glad it seemed to go well. Hope they dont leave you hanging on too long waiting by the phone tomorrow! Would have been good if they told you it was part of an observation day to see about her needs beforehand though.

insanityscratching · 04/07/2012 15:56

Good luck Lisa, hope you get your phone call soon.
