......please wish me luck!

He is normally awake at 5 anyway, but then sleeps from 9 until 11/12 ish. I have no idea how I am going to keep him awake!! su

good luck - we had one eeg in the morning at 10 and had to keep DD (then 3) pretty much awake throughout the night. we watched some movies, I took her out to the park in front of the house, have her loads of things to eat. she then drifted off just as we drove into the hospital car park Shock but I managed to wake her up again. luckily she went to sleep straight away for the eeg.
good luck!

Good luck tomorrow :)

thankyou

It does say that he will probably be sedated (using melatonin) so hopefullyif he does fall asleep, he should still be able to be asleep for the test.

I just hope it isn't as traumatic as the mri scan, or blood tests!

Your LOs and DS are gorgeous! DGS had an EEG at 7 months or so and he was absolutely fine, not traumatic at all. He looked like that horror film Hellraiser but it was obviously not painful. MRI is scary and bloods painful!

Thankyou sneezecakesmum, they are quite lovely!

Ds has just managed to go to sleep, he was completely wired - exhausting...

...this does not bode well for tomorrow!

just wanted to say thankyou again

managed to keep ds awake with the help of lots of chocolate buttons. he started falling asleep whilst they were sticking the wires on (had had melatonin when we got there). Whilst they were sticking wires on he did a funny chokey swallow, and the technician asked if that was like the episodes. She said that the fact that he hasn't had an episode for a few weeks might mean that nothing comes up on the eeg. Interestingly she said that often seizures can come in clusters, and I have noticed that ds will have weeks where he will have several episodes in a week, and then goes weeks without. However I still think it is reflux causing the episodes rather than seizures.

Anyway, we shall see what the results say, although as with a lot of these things it seems like an inexact science.....I wish there were some clear answers!

Crossing all my fingers and toes (plus the cat's sleeping next to me) that it is just caused by reflux Hazey.
