Hi if Ds has problems regulating his voice would this mean something is happening with his hearing? he had a hearing test at school in 2011 but it was ok.

If so is this something that the camhs team can check or should I go to see the gp again and get referred somewhere else?

Not necessarily.

Dd2 has issues with volume, but always has. It's a control problem, nothing to do with hearing.

If it's a new thing, could be temp to do with glue ear type thing? Worth getting checked. Would suggest Gp or paed, not camhs.

I know several children with add that don't modulate pitch or tone, though. Not sure what dx he has?

My DS who has ASD, plays with the pitch of his voice. He sounds very high pitched and squeaky but his hearing is fine. I suppose it depends if there are any other SN that may be affecting your DS's voice, but getting his hearing checked would probably be the first thing to check.

Thanks for the replies to be truthful I never really noticed that his voice was monotone until it was pointed out to me (I think thats what one of his reports said) because mine is v similar used to hate listening to recordings of myself when I was little Blush but I had noticed he tends to get louder and louder when he is talking but we just put it down to him being excited about what ever he was talking about

DS2 has problems with pitch and volume, but he has had his hearing tested and it is fine. If you haven't had it checked, I would think it would be helpful, if only just to rule it out as a contributing factor.
