Where did you have it done, how much did it cost,at what age is it best to have it done, was it beneficial both for school & yourselves,as parents???
Lots of questions!!
DD,5.3, (non-verbal,learning disability, gross & fine motors probs)is currently un-dx'd & we are off to Surrey this week for her to be assessed for Worster-Drought Syndrome.
We are waiting for a decision by the LEA,for her to stay in the reception class at mainstream school for another year(apparently this has never been granted for a statemented child in our LA)
SALT & OT,in my opinion,do not know what to do with her.Which has led to the S&L assessment question.
There are only 3 special schools in our LA,and they are for severely disabled children,we have no specialist S&L schools nearby.
I am at a loss as to what to do next,if school feel they cannot support her anymore & that may happen in the near futureSad

we haven't needed to get a second opinion on salt, yet! But the ones on my list are ican and the nuffield speech and language centre at the Royal Free which you may be able to get your gp to refer to.

My ds is 4.6 and has verbal dyspraxia. He was assessed at the Nuffield age 3. I can wholeheartedly recommend them - they are amazing. Having a dx meant we knew what help he needed. He has been at a nursery with language unit attached since November and has come on leaps and bounds.
