Been called in to talk to the head!!!

She's the new acting head and a very scary woman!
Office just called and asked that I come to see the head before picking up dd1.
I'm trying to work out what it could be about, but the office had no clue when I asked.

So who wants bets, I'm guessing;

  1. dd1 has had another awful day with supply teacher

  2. that she knows I have an "in" with a lot of parents and wants to talk

  3. I'm in trouble for giving teacher and SENCo a hard time over last few weeks!

lol Iv'e just replied about HIM wanting to tan your backside on FB..............

Turned out dd1 has had a massive meltdown in school because the supply teacher "wasn't sympathetic to her needs"!!
She had to be removed from class (dd1 not the supply teacher) Angry and they haven't been able to get her back into class.
I'm in for a hellish night and she has set us back weeks on school phobia Sad

  1. Probably.

No way will it be 2) HTs don't care what parents think.

Could be 3) - that's what I was called in for last time :)

devientenigma · 21/06/2012 14:03

hope it doesn't end up like me and B..............gonna be problems in the morning, she won't want to go back. You need to tell her all this but you know that anyway.............GL x

insanityscratching · 21/06/2012 14:03

Lisa if you can handle two girls with ASD the HT is going to be a doddle Wink

Maybe she's a good one and wants to support you in getting a statement for dd? Maybe she wants your opinion on how better to support dd so that she doesn't have nightmare days and you don't have to give SENCo and teacher a hard time?

Have to say I hated the "Can we have a chat message?" as it usually meant that ds had gone beyond his usual challenging behaviour and they wanted to know what I was going to do about it Angry

So sorry to hear this Sad DS2 seems to be in trouble all the time with the student teacher. Either her or the TA are left alone in class for long periods at a time. DS2 has aspergers and does act up, laughing and pulling faces. He got detention recently because the student gave him it. I did make it quite clear I wasn't happy that a student was in charge on her own. When we all had a meeting she just sat there smirking Hmm

I'm just so mad Angry hoping that supply teacher is still there when I go to collect dd1 do I can yell at her. I don't care that in normally nice and polite and can see both sides. Way I understood it is that supply teacher read her profile and decided not to do anything of the sort, I can only assume she has been told off which has kicked her off and they haven't been able to deal with it.

Will yelling not upset dd1? I can't see that doing you any favours tbh. Best to try to be calm and assertive imo.

Ineedalife · 21/06/2012 14:26

Supply teachers !!

You dont need to say anymore.

jandymaccomesback · 21/06/2012 15:44

Ineedalife having been a supply teacher for two years after I retired can I just say it is not a job I enjoyed.
You turn up and if you are lucky the Class Teacher has left you a list of the difficulties different children have, has a clear behaviour policy and joy of joys there is a lovely TA who fills you in on little Jimmy.
But more often than not you find out the hard way that Sam has ASD and has meltdowns when taught by strangers and Ben hides under the table whenever he's stressed and Fred can't cope with assembly.
Wouldn't go back to it myself.

Well that was interestingConfused
I didn't shout but was clearly not happy. She told me her job as a supply teacher was to come in and teach and treat all children in class the same, shame on her I work for LA too so know this isn't policy. She did look very scarced when I asked her what happened and had she read her pen profile? Should say pen profiles are first thing in supply folder which says "very important class information please read" in red writing.
Neither Her TA or autism teacher said a word but clearly one went for the head who when this was finished rushes me to her office for tea Blush
I have asked them to call me in morning if it's another supply teacher and I will keep her home.

Good for you for not shouting and also making it clear you know what's what. I hope this is the last of it?
