We've got tickets for the men's football QF at Wembley Stadium. DS has AS and is 7 and I have got a disability too. I've emailed London 2012 today to ask if there is any special queuing arrangements for people with disabilities as I have found out today that we should leave 2 hrs to get into the stadium - aaaaaaaaaaaargggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhh Grin. I really don't want to have to get rid of the tickets. I have always wanted to go to the Olympic Games as an athlete - yeah right thanks body for letting me down - and if it were to take 2 hrs to queue, I would have to turn round and come home. Neither of us will manage a 2 hr queue!

We've got paralympic equestrian, swimming AND athletics on 4/5/6 Sept with DD(3). Will be interesting! We're staying in West London for a week, near Willesden Junction, so I know it's 40 mins or so to Stratford on the overland train thingy. Think Greenwich Park is going to be slightly more interesting to get to on the first day. She has a wheelchair space in each and DH and I will also be allocated spaces there apparently. She can walk but is in a wheelchair for distance.

Travelling on the 2 Saturdays by train too with DD in her wheelchair - could be interesting!

Thanks ben that would be a good option for us. I might be back for hand holding a bit closer to the time as the reality of taking the Dd's to London on my own at a ridiculously busy time is beginning to dawn on me. LOLGrin

Oh and meant to say we have got athletics and swimming tickets with a gap in the middle of the day to take it all inGrin

I am excited but nervousGrin

Well, very impressed so far with First Great Western... This thread gave me the nudge I needed to contact them and arrange wheelchair assistance. They were fab! DD is only 3 but they have organised the First Class wheelchair space for her on both journeys (we have 1st class tickets) and we have the carer space and a space next to the wheelchair space too. We also have wheelchair assistance and luggage assistance at each station.

I thought it would be much harder work to organise! Hopefully they will deliver on the day!

That's great Galena!

Ben10 - yes the journey won't be too long but am apprehensive about crowds

We've got tickets for Earls Court, I've no idea how DS, who has AS will cope with the queues!

We have evening tickets for the para olympics field and track with ds who has autism and likes medals and running so we went for the last evening (7th Sept) with lots of medal ceremonies. I am at work in central London that day so will use the javalin train from Kingscross and leave the hard work of travelling with ds to dh! Ds - a runner in the past is now learning to hold tight when in crowds (since we lost him for a while in the british museum a couple of years back). Dh is planning to park and ride and meet me at the orbit for which we also have tickets. I have no idea if it will all aork out OK!!
Hope everyone else has a good experience.
