I liked hearing about your tiny triumphs, and I have a few more to report myself.

ds1 and ds2 will be seen at Dr Grounds clinic in Lexden this afternoon which is exciting.

And ds2 managed to write his name in Father's Day card, and did wheelbarrow walking this weekend - at last attempt he just could not tell his arms what to do and collapsed, this week it was no problem at all.

But a bit sad because a quick whiff of ds2 last night indicated his pseudomonas infection in his knackered right ear is back :(

We are between doctors as I had a little falling out with the receptionist at the last one and have put in forms at new drs down road, so thinking I'd better take him to the walk in clinic this afternoon.

So come aboard and tell me about your latest triumphs and little hiccups.

Ds' language amazed us the day his little brother was born.

My favourites:

'I'm a little bit happy!' (not bad for someone with trouble with emotions)
'I'm not used to this crying. It's hurting my ears!'

And my favourite of all time 'Did he come out of your vulva mummy?'

Excellent, and appropriate use of the word 'vulva' there - you must have been very proud!

Last week I got "I love you too mummy" for the very first time. My personal triumph was managing not to weep. Not that I'm needy at all, nooooo Grin

Since suggesting to DS1, last week, that he tried a night without a pull up, he's been dry every night for a week, now. Looks like he was only wetting it because it was there.

And he let me cut his toenails, last night, after his bath. They weren't that long, but they get all curled up because he won't go without socks for any longer than it takes for him to have a bath.

DS2(6) ate half a bowl of apple pie and cream all by himself, with a spoon, this evening. So far, all he's managed by himself is yoghurt, so something with mixed textures is huge for him. :o

had my first ever conversation with ds yesterday, he was telling me about sea creatures but he didnt just reel off a fact he included facts in a sentence i was well impressed, his vocabulary amazes me for a child with speech delay and he said hello for the first time the other week...

on a slightly less positive he as regressed a little he can no longer count and is doing alot of repeating (up to 50% of his language is repeated atm) so im worried about that.

This week DS and I on a car ride with a discussion on writing and spelling.

Discussed with him closing his eyes and "picturing the word" before spelling it out.

"Wow!" said DS as we parked up. Lent forward and put his face in front of mine and said "you know what you are really HANDY mum" Grin
