Possible bad reaction to magnesium spray?

Hi, Following threads on here, I thought I would give the magnesium spray a try. I sprayed it on and my son immediately complained that it was burning and stinging - he was got quite upset. 15 mins later and he has a light red rash but the stinging has gone. My initial thought was that this was the tingling that I had read about and that it signified a deficiency but I think this sounds like it might be more of an allergic reaction. Has anyone else had this happen? Not sure if I should try again or call it a day? He has had eczema, a walnut allergy and has sensitivity issues with some foods.

I use it and it does sting, but only for a minute or so. I think I remember seeing some brands advertised as non-stinging, might be worth trying one of those? I'm guessing that any allergic reaction would be to any other ingredients in the spray, rather than the magnesium itself. Poor him.

Not massively helpful, sorry, but I'll be watching this with interest.

I think it stings if they're defecient and you need to build it up slowly.

Having said that DD won't me me try it again because it stung so badly :(

I've been looking for an answer on the net and found this:

"Some people may suffer from magnesium oil side effects such as itching, a rash or hives. An allergic reaction such as this may also include chest tightening and difficulty breathing which means to seek medical help."

I think this means that the rash would have been an allergic reaction. He says it felt like when he ate the walnut.

Also found this:

Allergic Reaction

"If you already know you are allergic to magnesium chloride, you should not take this supplement. Symptoms of allergic reaction include hives, dizziness, breathing difficulties and swelling of the tongue or throat."
