Saying Hi

I have been lurking around the SN threads for a couple of weeks now and I have to say that I have found alot of comfort in finding ppl that are going through situations similar to mine and I want to say Hi to you all :D.

I have only 1 DS (6) and I would like to start by saying he is an absolute star, if I had the obstacles in my way he did I would lose my rag much more than he ever has, he is the most sincere, honest soul I have ever had the privilege to come across and he seems to cope much better than I ever could :)

DS has been known to peadiatricians etc from 2, 1st for delayed speech and language and as he has grown older social communication skills and concentration issues. He is now being assessed for ASD and ADD and we are in the process of trying to get him a statement as the PRA he is on can no longer provide the amount of help he requires.

I guess I am here really for some company and reassurance during the journey that is my DS, and maybe to offer some of the same in return in the future :)

Welcome MyAngel, this board is fantastic and have learned so much from it :)

hi and welcome Brew

i've learnt so much from this section, it's been invaluable in keeping me sane and on the right track during DDs assessment and dx for ASD.

it's fabulous - i've made some lovely friends and a welcome sanctuary at times too

Thanks

Hi myangel and welcome to the board.

I have been coming on this board for a while now. The lovely people on here have helped me through moving my Dd3 to a better school and through getting her a diagnosis of ASD.

It is such a brilliant place where everyone supports each other and no one judges.

Keep coming back and good luckSmile

Hi MyAngel, and welcome. You sound very positive, I hope you will enjoy it here. Smile

Good morning and ty for the welcomes, I probably won't post to much to start with, I don't have very much experience with battling the professionals the way some of you do, my biggest battle so far was to get the school SENCO to start thr process for the statement before DS had a dx, she was under the impression that you couldnt get one with out a dx Hmm. I tend to take what they say at face value lol.

Now to sit back and have a Brew whilst DS plays mario races on the wii Grin

Hello MyAngel, welcome. Smile

I am very impressed you got a SENCO to go for a statement without a dx - if you can do that, you're going to go far! Grin

Don't worry about not having a lot of experience, we all have different experiences and areas of knowledge etc, but sometimes we just share support and the occasional unMNetty ((hugs)) as needed.

Oh and do be sure to come along to the Friday night thread to share Wine chocolate, gin or whatever other virtual delights are on offer, whilst offloading whatever your week has been like. Smile
