Well done to your ds! :o

And they're useful words too. Ds1's first proper word at age 3 was "fish". We didn't own a fish. He didn't eat fish. Confused

LiberteEgaliteFRIGGernite · 11/06/2012 12:46

Grin @ fish!

After he'd said them,he looked at me,like he wasn't sure if he'd done it right, and then repeated himself...

I praised him LOTS and repeted the words he'd said...he frowned in concentration and said it again, this time,he beamed at me.

It was SO amazing and lovely and wonderfull, but I don't think he could hear exactly what he was saying...and he had to check it was 'right'.

Does that make sence?

That sounds wonderful! Well done DS! :)

samithesausage · 11/06/2012 13:59

Well done both of you! I know how you feel, mine is now 3 and has started 2-3 word sentences! Everytime a word comes out you feel like shouting yay! Well done to both of you! :)

LiberteEgaliteFRIGGernite · 11/06/2012 18:32

This afternoon he said 'Dada' (DP cried)

Then eye-O (whilst waving so I'm assuming hello for that one!)

And then eyeeee (again, whilst waving,so 'bye')

I can't believe it!

Yay for your DS! :o

DS2 squealed "My gawd!" in the Dr's waiting room today Blush It made me smile because we've not had much out of him, lately.

coff33pot · 11/06/2012 18:54

Yay! thats terrific! Well done little DS! Grin

ThoughtBen10WasBadPokemonOMG · 11/06/2012 20:21

That's great. DS didn't start talking until 2. Now you can't shut him up! Grin

ThoughtBen10WasBadPokemonOMG · 11/06/2012 20:24

Hopefully him being able to communicate will make everything much easier for you,

zen1 · 11/06/2012 21:08

What lovely news! Very happy for you and your DS Smile

EllenJaneisnotmyname · 11/06/2012 21:27

Fantastic! He's got the point of communication, well done little FRIGG. Lots of praise and rewards (unless that makes him uncomfortable.) Smile Smile

LiberteEgaliteFRIGGernite · 11/06/2012 21:29

Grin < I've looked like this all day!

I'm just so pleased he can finally let us know when he needs a drink or can ask 'please' and point to something, rather than just screaming, and eventually giving up Sad
It was a real lightbulb moment for him,you could see it all ticking over Smile

Ellen yes, exactly,it's like he just figured out it might be useful!

EllenJaneisnotmyname · 11/06/2012 21:35

That's the thing about theory of mind. They don't realise until later than average that you are separate from them and can't tell what they are thinking. They know they want a drink, so you should automatically know! If he's got the idea that he has to let you know what he wants that's great progress.

DameHermione · 11/06/2012 21:39

Hurrah!

StabbyMacStabby · 11/06/2012 22:03

That's just fabulous! Grin I welled up at your saying your DP cried at "Dada".
