walking on eggshells.

DD1 hiding in her room.

I'm trying not to breathe wrong and have cracked open the wine early.

Aaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrggggh.

DD1 is now being all hard-done-by and pre-exam stressy.

I can't do both DDs at the same time when they are like this.

Biscuit we're surprisingly buoyant at the moment - teaching himself visual basic from an annoying american kid on youtube - penny will drop soon no doubt :)

'Can I skip school tomorrow?' Every bloody day. Especially on Fridays! Hmm

moosemama · 10/06/2012 22:26

We have INSET tomorrow, so one more day before it's back to the daily grind.

Now we've made our decision, I'm oddly looking forward to handing dh's letter over to the school on Tuesday morning - in a kind of 'light the touchpaper and stand well back kind of way'.

It's my birthday on Tuesday as well. Comes to something when you celebrate another year's passing by hand delivering one letter to the school and another to the LEA. Hmm Grin

Well we have not had a good start this morning. I dropped DS off at school - all fine( except for a sore foot where we are treating his verruca - he limped all the way up there).
I got a call at about 10.30 saying he was cold and shivery and refusing to do any work but did not have a temperature. The TA seemed to think it was first day back-itis and I had to agree.
I went up to school to talk to DS who was sitting wrapped in a blanket in welfare.
After a bit of probing - he is cold and had not slept well ( always makes him feel cold the next day) but had problems with the work he was being asked to do - literacy. Both the TA and I both went - "well you can make it up. It doesn't have to be true." and a light bulb came on.
I left DS with the hot water bottle I took up with me and he agreed to go back to class and work and see how he felt.
I haven't heard anything more so I assume he is OK. Smile

INSET today for us, so we have back to school angst, still. Having a temporary lull, at the moment, but it usually kicks off after tea.

At least DH is home, so I'm no longer grinning and bearing it (and ranting online about it) alone.

I'm another one who dreads the holidays and celebrates the return to school. Ds1 seems to get v unsettled after a few school-free days, and I find it v hard not having any break for weeks on end (especially as he's v late to bed and v early to rise!)

Not to mention the agonies of trying to entertain 2 NT children with quite a big age gap between them and a largely non-verbal asd child in the middle, who is very particular and inflexible in what he wants (and is able) to do. It's very hard on me and I'm like a dishrag at the end of every day
