After a lovely sunny morning in local park that has water things you can play in- DS fully clothed and pissed wet through, but having a ball- screamy and jumpy:) the weather took a turn for the worse in the afternoon when we got home and Lashed it down.
DS announced he wanted to "walk with umberella" ,just bought him a small spiderman one.I thought he'd just want to stand outside the house,so followed him out with my new see through (cheap) umberella. But no, we had to walk- I was in PJ bottoms I'd worn for a few days (bagy arsed),top with last night's food down the front, hair that was very frizzy and big(imagine Rebecca Brooks on acid)pretend blue crocs (only worn in the back garden) and a face full of unconcealed spots.
I thought, get him to the end of our close and we'll turn back, oh no, we had to troupe on. Well it stopped raining, but could we take the umbrellas down- NO! could we turn back for home-NO!
So on I walked down the road, looking a state, holding on to DS's hand ( he's a runner) with us both holding up brollies while it wasn't raining. On and on we went, no amount of "Let's go home and eat sweets" would persuade him, and then we got to I've really got to say we're going home.
Cue- throwing of brolly, shouting of "well that's not fair" and "Oh Mummy"by DS and general meltdown. He cried and screamed most of the way home, but to make matters worse, the sun came out and we still had to walk with the brollies up as any attempt to take them down made screaming worse. He eventually stopped crying (he didn't really know why he was).
So today I looked like a total twat-dragging a sceaming child down the road in briliant sunshine whilst we were holding up umbrellas. But on the whole it's been a good day :)

.....I wonder what the neighbours made of that Grin

RinkyDinkyDoo · 06/06/2012 22:04

Well of course on the way back I saw a neighbour, he just smiled and said hello and carried on :)

You know, when I look back on some of the daft things I had to do to appease DS, it's actually quite liberating. I lost all my inhibitions many years ago - it goes with the turf Grin

PMSL!!!! Oh i so get it... well done you!

Last week My DS was asked to leave his SN swimming lesson as he became very distressed... Anyway i spoke to the swimming co ordinator as i really wanted him to learn to swim, plus I am sick of paying for stuff and then leaving after a few weeks. The co ordinator suggested i join him in the pool at the next lesson, i agreed without thinking.

Then realised- OMG i've got to get in my 10 year old swim suit in front of about 20 mums from the school(other DC school), my legs havent seen daylight in about 20 years, honestly. Oh the veins, psoriasis, cellute...

Well i did, what i always do & pretended they couldn't see me (i know, i know!) My Ds was swimmimng within 15 mins!! I was so proud of both of us but God knows the situations I've ended up in due to him, never ceases to amaze me... oh the storys of the tree, climbing frame, police, fair ground etc go on&on!

That was a great day!

RinkyDinkyDoo · 06/06/2012 22:17

Do you know, not so long ago I would have got in the house and cried over the stress of the melt down, but I was more concerned over the baggy arsed pants I was wearing and frizzy hair. My how I've matured :)

maybe we could all live in a village somewhere, with our own school, own shops own community where our families would all be just the norm with our own mix of abilities & disabilities.

Every psrking space would be a disabled bay. Only nice friendly visitors would be let in Grin

Any hostile visitors could be exterminated by DS's daleks at the perimeter!

RinkyDinkyDoo · 06/06/2012 22:38

Can we all have umberellas, no matter what the weather?????

coff33pot · 06/06/2012 23:09

Love it! Grin

DS is a dab hand at exterminating with sucker darts! I am sure he could give the dialeks back up Grin

StarlightMaJesty · 06/06/2012 23:55

Brilliant!

Ds went out of the front door in his pjs today. He's 5 so I had to go after him quick smart. I am now 9 months pg with ginormous bump and although had a long maternity top on, coukdn't locate any trousers. You coukdn't actually SEE my knickers I told myself but you coukd probably see my cellulite.

To make matters worse, dd (3) chased us both down the street in a fairy dress that hardly covered her bum, wearing no knickers at all, sunglasses and bunny ears!

As some of you know, I am new to the area and trying to establish myself in the community. Oh to have dreams!!!!!!

Triggles · 07/06/2012 07:32

pmsl Oh how I wish we all lived in the same area. At least we'd be providing each other with entertainment and support. Grin

coff33pot · 07/06/2012 12:15

Oh yes it would be great! Permanent baggy pj days with the occasional clothes party Grin

Umbrellas whatever the weather.

Massive outside picnics in the summer so non of us need do any washing up just a roll it up and bin it Grin

Bad hair days wont matter.

We could be every childs Aunty/Uncle lol so school meetings would be nice and united Grin

porridgelover · 07/06/2012 12:40

Yep. Been there. And it doesn't get any easier, people gawping at ds and I, on the very rare occasions we leave the safety of our own home.
