not liking people behind them

Does anyone else's dc not like people sitting/standing behind them? Dd2 is terrible! If we are on the bus and someone sits behind her we have to move same with standing in queue.

Tonight we went to the circus I anticipated she may be scared of the noise etc etc. But she was ok and pulled her hood up and covered her ears with no screaming. Didnt mind the clowns. But when someone came and sat in the seat behind her cue big meltdown!!! It doesn't seem to matter whether its child/adult male/female. Eventually got her settled on my knee where she had to sit for the whole two hours and at almost 3yrs old she's a lump!!

YEP - mine too. Exactly the same on the bus.

Same here. Year 6 now and insists on being at back of school queues OR at front with back to teacher.

DS2 has this as well. He's also recently decided he doesn't like other cars/vehicles in front of us, behind us, or on either side of us (going either way). Hmm And he doesn't like me driving fast enough that the white lines in the middle blur at all. Hmm It does make going anywhere difficult.

Oh good pleased I'm not alone :) any ideas on how to stop it? Or going by the age of your kids I'm presuming its hard to stop!

I'm like that too as an adult, sorry Blush. For me, it's about disliking the feeling of behing hemmed in, of escape routes being blocked etc. The only thing that helps is having something like a book to read/mobile to play on to distract me. There's also an element of social anxiety for me, of preferring to be say at a bus stop by myself, so not having to worry about looking "normal" or people forming a negative impression of me.

I hate it too, it makes me feel creepy especially if the person stands to close. Yuk!!

I always stand sideways in queues, so i dont get the feeling.

Dd3 has never verbalised this to me but she is awfull in queues so might feel the same.

She's a very anxious nervy child so that's probably why and she has some social issues. Guess we will be sitting on the back row for everything from now in ;)
