saw DS1's psychologist who said that he did not have autism but that there was something but she didn't know what. with that she supported us in going for a 2nd opinion and even wrote a letter to my GP about it. the 2nd opinion psychiatrist dx ASD at a different CAMHS location.

But now psychologist has said she's not changed her mind and if we stay with her team they will not work with the diagnosis, but we can go to the other CAMHS where they will.

I cannot ignore the dx! and so have no choice but to go to the other CAMHS. I just feel so down. I spent 2 years with these people thinking of different strategies for his food issues in particular. he knows them, and now we have to start again.

apparently we can because they have said so. The CAMHS I'm going to is our City's central team and we were in the south. Imagine this though; they also recommended that I may want to go to elsewhere one of the recommendations was 15 miles away and at least 2 or 3 busses away. DH works away now and I'm on my own with no car and 2 kids. There was total disregard for my personal situation. all because they don't want to fund his support! Fortunately the option I chose is actually on an easier bus route than my nearest CAMHS. But that's more luck than any consideration they may have shown us.

My experience of CAMHS was shocking. They managed to recognise 1 out of 6 issues between my boys. I recognised 5 .
First of all the dietician was totally clueless. Just said he was a very picky eater.

See if this article rings any bells. Look on PlanetAutisms blog page are there are some great info sheets. There are some informative articles on her FB page as well. There is also a rare Autism Spectrum Syndrome called Pathological Demand Avoidance Syndrome PDA. Look on the PDA Society website. You can have this on its own or with Asbergers , ADHD.
Look for co Morbid such as dyslexia , Dyspraxia , dyscalculia , Irlen syndrome .
Hope this helps xx
