hello everyone. how has your week been? I am feeling virtuous, (for some very 'sad' reasons) I have done 5 trips to the tip with garden and other stuff, so chez sign is looking markedly less cluttered, and I have a 'to do' list that now fits on one page... Blush

ds has been brill, he went to school today dressed as Hermes with wings stapled on his sandals, Grin and instead of going to see the torch (loud, busy, and hot.... Hmm) we went to play with his little friend from school, and ds managed really well, three kids all running in and out of paddling pool stark naked except for hats. Grin he had a lovely relaxed time, and so did I...

dh has been away at his mums and ds actually said 'I miss daddy lots this week'.

Sorry girls. I probably should have done a separate thread. DD has had 26 GA's so we are prepared for it, and I thought that Oxford were as well! We now have no idea when it will happen next, as we have an 8hr surgery at GOS in August!

Right. Rant over with. Am now going to have a G&T, any takers? Smile

LollipopViolet · 25/05/2012 20:12

Ellen, I've just got to do some presentations and screen my film next week, then help with our degree show, then that's it! Grin

EllenJaneisnotmyname · 25/05/2012 20:14

I'm out later with a bottle of Cava so may take a rain cheque on the G & T tonight, Sally. Blimey, 26 GAs! I've only had one in my whole life. It's not fair, is it, what our lovely DC have to go through.

creatovator · 25/05/2012 20:19

Jings Sally 26. How on earth do you cope! I've just sent DH out for some low cal wine and low cal pudding, so will also take a rain check on G&T.

Lolli hope we're all invited to the graduation or whatever Wink.

Ellen is it a celebration then?

SallyBear · 25/05/2012 20:21

No it's not fair Ellen. It doesn't get any easier. My littlest DS has had 3 GA's, all of which were scans etc. DD has mainly had surgeries. It's not nice at all, and a few years ago she would have her hospital bag packed weeks in advance with what she wanted in hospital with her. She always remembered to pack clean knickers! Grin

ellen and moose ds loves power point, (we have done one on K9, Grin) he thinks it is the most amazing thing... I will have to have a look at photostory, thanks!

Evening :)

Think i'll start with a bit of Rosie and Jim this evening as i've been singing it all week to my dd... "The Sun is shining. The Sky is blue. And i feel happy, happy all through" - oh i watch too many films!

We've had a great week with dd, she appears to have calmed down her behaviour when it comes to her feeds, and for the first time in 8 weeks (yes i really am counting!!!) i haven't had a phone call home from school 'hip hip hooray' :D :D :D

DD has a new obsession.... Tuesday evening we were driving home when a fox ran in front of our car, she looked confused so my DH decided to teach her the sign for fox, so that is all she has been signing to everyone and anyone all the rest of the week! she's very persistent and is unlikely to stop until something else interesting happens.

Wishing you all a happy weekend enjoying the weather, me and the bump are going for a nice cool shower as i think i may sweat a puddle soon :)

Hello

Just popping in, between cake making and present wrapping - it is dd2's 5th birthday party tomorrow, so I have made a 'queen cake' (barbie with talc in her hair, stuck in a cake covered in sweets) a stack of cup cakes (pink icing and dolly mixtures) and little trifles. Dds and their friends have been turned into a bunch of raving royalists, with jubilee fever, so we have a stack of union jack paraphernalia to decorate the house. I have also drunk a glass of rather lovely sparkling rose, and that combined with a 4 o clock start to the day and an afternoon spent in the sun, has made me rather sleepy, so I am going to bed in a minute.

Sorry to hear about the problems with dds tooth extraction, Sally, how frustrating. How are the rest of your clan?

We saw the olympic torch go through our high street, it was all a bit surreal, and dd2 was very disappointed that it wasn't being carried by the Queen.

Oh and ds has hayfever, poor boy is streaming with bright red eyes, I know I shouldn't moan about the sunshine, but he has been such a sweaty, snotty mess in the heat, that I am starting to wish for the rain to come back!

SallyBear · 25/05/2012 22:45

Happy Birthday to DD2 Hazey. Hope that you have a successful birthday weekend!! I had to go and buy a union jack T-shirt for DS3 so that he could wear it to the school's "bubilee" celebrations. Grin I found myself looking at flag bunting......

moosemama · 25/05/2012 23:15

Sorry, no you didn't kill the thread - my Mum turned up with wine and chocolates, so I've been a bit distracted. She's headed home to bed now and dh is at a gig, so I am back. At least until I can't hold my eyes open any more.

Happy birthday little Hazey. Smile

SallyBear · 26/05/2012 07:50

I think that everyone is taking advantage of summer, now that it's here!! Lots of wine and beer in the fridge and evenings sat out on the patio drinking an aperitif and watching the DC at play....

This is a typical weekend in the Bear house, Maths GCSE lessons (me), housework, homework, mil over for lunch on Sunday, me frantically getting the laundry done ahead of Monday morning!!

Have a good one everybody!! Smile

EllenJaneisnotmyname · 26/05/2012 10:49

Two school fetes today, DS3's primary school and the early years special school that DS2 left in 2005! I'm going to be all feted out and sunburnt by the end of the day. Smile I hope I don't get the bouncy castle to supervise again...

hazeyjane · 26/05/2012 21:07

2 fetes!!! You are hardcore!

Dd2's birthday went ok, despite dd1 trying to scupper it by taking every opportunity to stamp her foot and point out how unfair everything is. My queen cake turned out well (I looked at the photos on your profile, moosemama - all I can say is wow! you are a cake genius!)

Sally, I am in awe of you doing a maths gcse - I found it hard enough the first time round, is there a reason why you are doing it now?

We are off up to the sports fields where dh works tomorrow, to have a picnic and practice putting up our new bell tent. Although I feel a little bad taking ds up there, every time we are out he starts streaming, and rubbing his eyes. I would give him Piriton, but he is so sleepy at the best of times, that I think he would sleep all day if I gave it to him!

NoHaudinMaWheest · 27/05/2012 00:03

Hazey how old is your Ds? My two both have bad hayfever. They have a beconase nasal spray and opticrom eye drops which are much more effective than tablets and don't cause sleepiness. Ds has had the eye drops since he was 2 (it was a right battle getting them in then) and the nasal spray since about 8. You need a prescription to get them for under 12s, but it might be worth asking your GP.

insanityscratching · 27/05/2012 08:32

I requested a free sample here and I have to say it's been the most effective stuff I've ever used. You can also take anti histamines alongside if needed. Worth giving it a try if you ask me.

hazeyjane · 28/05/2012 10:38

Sorry, hadn't seen those messages!

Ds is nearly 2. Thankyou for the heads up about the free sample. I have an appointment at the drs for him on Weds, as he has been quite wheezy at night with it.
