What is this . . Enhanced School Action?

I have spoke to DS's teacher, after school for a catch up. She said he's still acting really strange and has been off the wall today. They have been so good with him and I really can't fault them. He has a great TA working with him and prompting him when he needs it - which I should imagine is alot!

Anyway, they mentioned he was on this enhanced school action and said it's inbetween Action and Action plus. Has anyone heard of this that can shed some light on the subject for me?

They are going to set up an IBP (he doesn't need an IEP as he's academically ok) but i'm just wondering if there's anything I can do at home?

I've ordered some bits off that auction site (not sure if I can mention it) that I feel will benefit him and am just waiting for it to arrive.

Feel like i'm meeting myself coming back, with regards to my DC at the minute.

Anyway, we've got his CAMHS appointment tomorrow so hopefully something will become clearer then

my boy has a IEP,and review date was spring,so ask the head for a review and said i dont go in to the school to discuss the outcome or if any progress in the last 6mts.and she filled the outcome comment section on it in ask me to sign it .is this right .i thought both parent n teacher are suppose to discuss the childs progress and if anything on the iep need changing or adding if no progress ??

Sherbert No, it's not right. You should have some input into the IEP when it's drawn up and should be asked to provide your input to the review - not just sign what they think you would have said. Ask them for a meeting to draw up the amended IEP. They are supposed to work in partnership with parents at all times - according to the SEN Code of Practice.

You son should have an IEP and should at least be on Schools Action. As he's already seen an Ed Pysch he may even warrant being on Schools Action Plus. Speak to the SENCO and ask her what she intends to do to help your son improve as he's only on the 11th percentile. You may want to contact the Ed Pysch directly to discuss what additional support could benefit your son and then ask school to start delivering it.
