Fish Oil/ supplements, can they be really effectively disguised for ultra-fussy DS?

(Sorry if this topic has already been done to death in the past, it's still new to me) I've wasted SO much money on different costly recommended supplements which DS then spits out first time and then refuses forever after. It would be so brilliant to find a quick answer from the distilled wisdom of anyone, esp. perhaps those with children with ASD, who have somehow successfully managed to sneak Omega 3 & 6 supplements, plus vitamin, zinc & magnesium supplements, into their DC? Plus any tips or hints as to how to really effectively disguise them in other foods?

I have tried hiding these in fruit juices, water, yoghurt, tomato ketchup etc but no, he sniffs out the tiniest drop from miles away. Might putting some into some foods while cooking (eg. baking muffins) work - or will the heat then destroy their benefit?

I have a feeling that someone has been through this before and may have found the magic answer.....

Bassington - This supplement stuff is hard, because as well as what's best you have to factor in what he will take and what you can afford.

The best one is Vegepa (which you can only buy online)

If you don't want that, just use whatever you think he will take and you think is making a difference......

You are trying to get as much EPA and as little DHA as you can, and you're trying to get about 500mg a day.

thanks for that Indigo.

Can confirm the Opti3 don't taste/smell of anything. They are huge capsules but we pierce them and squeeze onto jacket potatoes, or onto breakfast cereal, he doesn't have a clue. It does the oil/water thing so can't put in a drink but my ds, like yours, can spot anything else a mile off...

Thanks for this VonHerrB I've never heard of Opti3, that's interesting that they are tasteless/odourless...more versatile, then, for sneakily adding to savoury food. I'll look out for them!

Opti3 is one of the vegetarian ones I linked to upthread.

The reason they don't taste fishy is because it's made from algae.

You'll probably have to buy it online though.

Algae -? that's interesting, didn't know that contained the omega oils. Thanks for that Indigo
