Is this normal? I just looked on the website and it says they usually text to say they have recieved it? I know the actual processing bit takes a while.

I think it was about 6 weeks before we heard anything, although that was last summer and I don't remember getting a text. You can always ring and ask if you're worried it's got there.

Thanks its probably just that the text comes when they have looked at it, they'd have to I guess to get the number to text.

I would ring but the wait was 45 mins when I tried last time so I gave up! I will try and wait for their response patiently!

You can contact them through their website if you want to check that they have it. Their facebook page says First applications are taking around 8 weeks. If your application is subsequent you can check the progress by either texting your Family Fund number to 01904 500016 or you can go to our website www.familyfund.org.uk Check my application and enter your number.

Thanks it is a first application. I will wait till 8 weeks and see if we hear back and get in touch with them if not. I emailed in december with a question and never heard back (though got a confirmation email to say they got it) so am guessing they are really really busy.

used2, I found them an absolute nightmare to get hold of, and I'm afraid to say we had to wait ages for a response, and then they needed a letter from ds's physio (we wanted the money for a rear facing car seat). I too had some long (1 hr plus) waits and unreplied e-mails. Do you have a keyworker or someone who could make the phonecalls for you. Ds's keyworker ended up making all the communication because I coudln't manage it.

Good luck!

Thanks Hazey no we don't really. I've applied for garden toys so can wait but out of interest, do you have a keyworker as in an inclusion teacher ? Or is it through the children's centre?

She is an early years support worker, and nominated as ds's keyworker at his TAC meeting last year.

I just found them so hard to get hold of, that I thought she would have more luck.

Once we did make contact they were amazing, and we did get ds a carseat, after a long time being squeezed into his stage 0 one!
