I have dipped into threads about this before but i'm not sure what to make of it...DS (7) has autism and is doing well on ABA.

I like ABA, I understand it, it makes perfect sense to me.

The Tinsley house approach I don't understand, but that doesn't mean I don't want to. Is it suitable for an extremely healthy boy with no allergies/rashes/bowel problems? We have done GF/CF for 3 months + in the past and felt it made no discernable difference, ditto fish oils.

Please can I have some advice and opinions good or bad about TH so I can try and decide if it's appropriate.

Thanks

Read the whole Tinsley house support thread. That will tell you what it's like.

What it is, is a neurodevelopment therapy. That means it works on fixing the brain.

Normally it starts with the left cerebellum. Most of our kids left cerebellum is underdeveloped, and specific exercises can be done which improve it.

The cerebellum controls the body, ie gross motor skills. So the first improvements you will see will be in gross motor skills.

When the cerebellum is improved, he then works on the next bit of the brain and be next bit. After a year or so you get up to the prefrontal cortex which is about emotional and social stuff - so all the classic ASD stuff.

It's not suitable for all kids with Autism. It's only suitable if your child developed normally until 4 months.
