A new worry- DD keeps leaking/wetting. What to do about school?

Poor DD is now leaking urine, its been a slight issue when constipated before but the last three days have been so bad she has spent the weekend in pads. Its just all the time, not wetting herself, she is going normally but just dribbles but its extreme, not much time in between, I changed her three times in a coulple of hours on saturday.

Saw out of hours GP sunday and there is no infection, she is also not constipated as I have given extra movicol to check. She has had some surgery in that area and needs more but not for years so I think I will see the GP with her tomorrow to see if we need to see the surgeon about it but am thinking this could take time and in the mean time not sure what to do about school-she has a one to one TA but would they vchange her pad for her?

It's one of those jobs I think someone has to volunteer for but should be done in school, so hopefully her 1:1 will do it. Dd3 was always changed at her ms school, they did try to tell me they couldn't at the beginning but it's part of her disability. Does she have a care plan? It should be fairly easy to get that amended if she does. Hope she's ok.

Thank you. Feeling quite worried, got dr appointment at 12 so will see if they refer her back to her urologist to make sure things are working ok. She is in the big night time sanitary pads atm.

Yes she has a care plan, I think I will give school a ring later to see how they feel but hopefully they will be ok with it. I hope its fixable soon but can imagine it won't be since its not an obvious thing like infection.

your school sound like they've been pretty good up to now so hopefully they should be ok with this Smile Hope you get an appointment with the urologist quickly, dd3 got referred to the enuresis nurse by school and that was a total waste of time, she prescibed pads for her . . . eventually but was worse than useless for anything else.

Thanks yes they have just going to give them a ring now as the doctor said the process may take a few weeks, he sent another sample off to the lab but agreed it didnt seem to be an infection.

I think our continence service is the same as constipation nurses and I never found that very helpful other than the movicol so have not asked to be re referred. Otoh pads may be useful on prescription!

Just spoke to her teacher who was very good about it and said she will check and change the pads. Really hope this is quickly resolved, DD has been dry since two years ten months and has always been quite reliable so its a bit of a worry.
