"Davis approach"

Has anyone here ever heard of this method of managing/treating ASD? It was mentioned by a SALT at an NHS autism clinic appointment we had yesterday (although she said it was "Gina Davis" I was pretty sure she did not mean that(!) and when I looked up Davis approach it seems to be a method by an American guy called Ron Davis). Anyone ever heard of this?

Gina Davis

I have been involved with ehr before, and she has worked with dd1. she was instrumental in setting up the ASD preschool dd1 attended (sadly by the time dd1 went there, Gina Davis was not there, and had sold it on - much diluted message, not nearly as effective)

she is quite intriguing. some interesting approaches, and pretty no-nonsense.

Oh that looks much better than the American website, thanks! I put Davis into Google rather than Davies and it came up with a rather off the wall American approach! I will certainly look into this Gina Davies' appraoach. What the SALT seemed to be trying to say was that ABA (which I had asked her opinion about) was well and good, and evidece based, but other forms of interaction alonside it were also helpful.

Thanks for setting me right!

Having had experience of Davis (the Ron one) for my daughter: dyslexia, dyspraxia, ADHD and on the Autism Spectrum; this was the one that worked for us. It's not really off the wall -it just comes from the point of view of someone who really understands the problems and why they happen and how to fix it. After all -the problems can manifest as very 'off the wall' for an ADHD child (or adult).
