WWYD? re playscheme and ds injuries

Ds has attended a local SN playscheme this holiday. he has been before and I am very grateful for it because he is very severely autistic and is hard to entertain at home. However, he seems to have acquired an awful lot of bruises and scratches this time round and I am worried about it. He has two nasty scratches on his face from two separate incidents and has various bruises on his arms and one on his thigh which I think he may have done himself when he went into a meltdown. I asked for accident reports for the two scratches as they did tell me about them when I collected him. The day after I noticed the bruise on his leg, I asked had he had a tantrum the day before and they then said yes and he had tried to bite staff but they seemed unconcerned. I don't know if I should write and gently enquire whether he has been particularly difficult or has clashed with another child or not. I don't want to seem ungrateful and difficult but am also worried about having to explain all these injuries when ds goes back to school. I work really hard to keep him safe and happy at home. WWYD?

Perhaps a little gentle questioning of the organiser to start with and depending on the outcome you can decide whether to let matters lie or make a more formal complaint.

Playschemes can be quite boisterous. DS hated them.

Wet is right, play schemes can be boisterous. I would speak to the staff as sometimes they can get a little complacent with issues like this as they happen so often in places like play schemes when full of kids with asd. I doubt the situation is deliberate but a word with the centre manager won't hurt.
