Holds Imogen's hand. dS2 had to have a filling. I've blanked it from my mind. Just make sure they give him the injection at least 15 mins before they do any drilling, just sit out in the waiting room and, well, wait!

hands and wine at the ready for post-dentist debriefing.

i never realised my initials were DH. that's unfortunate Grin

when I had a filling a couple of years ago she used a sort of bubble gum flavoured gell on my gum before the injection to numb it.worked a treat. (the last filling before that i had without any injection I was so anti-pointy-needles in my mouth!)

A successful haircut is one of my dreams -well done for achieving it :o

The OT asked me if I cut DS's hair - I said yes, over about 4 days as thats how long it takes snipping it a bit at a time Blush. For those 4 days he goes to school with it in different lengths Blush Blush

Well in that case GO dd GO! :)

pinkorkid · 13/04/2012 16:13

Well done to dameh's dd! Ds won't countenance going to the barber's even when the fringe approaches the end of his nose. A month ago he eventually let me cut it, so less of a hippy look now more of a bouffant Beatles barnet. Grin

My son had his first haircut (not hacked by me) about 6 months ago and I was in tears leaving the salon (happy tears). I was lucky to find a salon owner who has a son with ASD so she's fab with him. She even did it when there would be no other customers so didn't matter that he screamed like he was being murderd. Lovely lady is now a good friend, but your right it's the things that seem so small to others than can seem like mountains to us x

wigglybeezer · 14/04/2012 20:05

Oh, we had a bad haircut yesterday, too much off and DS1 had a teenage tantrum when he got home and is refusing to go out in case anyone sees him! DS2 doesn't care what he looks like but CANNOT sit up straight or stay still so ended up with a squinty fringe...sigh.

Glad the dentist went well, they don't usually do injections for fillings in milk teeth (wish I'd known that before i terrified DS3 by warning him unnescessarily that he might need one last time!).

DS2 had to get referred to the special paediatric dentist as he couldn't cope with a filling, the injection was fine but he got claustrophobic due to all the fingers and suction tubes etc. in his mouth. The dentist was fab, used to "different' children and by far the nicest and most patient medical professional I have had dealings with, DS had gas and air through a nasal mask thingy and giggled ans smiled through the whole thing.

Managed shoe shopping x2 today even if the boys ignored the assistants questions Grin
