Ds1 is a pfb, according to this, he should be the brightest little guy in the world... If only.

oh i so did not need to click on that. Angry

I skimmed it, as it looked like a load of old bollocks!

I've been accused regularly of being too helpful and loving where my kids are concerned, but that's my MiL talking and she's an old trout who's opinion doesn't count. Wink

Oh well, my poor dc being stuck with a mum who's entirely to blame for their predicament... Now where's the gin?Grin

It is, of course, only mother's that can provide this love - the love of father's, siblings, grandparents, friends is all worth bubkiss.

I particularly like the way that the article completely contradicts itself in the penultimate paragraph, where it says that,

'In children with signs of significant early depression, maternal nurturing in the laboratory had no association with subsequent hippocampal volume. Why this was the case is anybody?s guess...'

It is incredible isn't it? If you don't support your child, you will be accused of being too hard but if you do, you are too indulgent.

DS's last school was very much of the opinion that children got told what to do and he had 'odd' eating, dressing etc habits because of a silly, faddy mother. Autism - pah, I've been in teaching for 20 years and I know better - that seemed to be the idea!

Yet, if we said things like that, we'd be wicked mothers and the cause of the problem.

Ineedalife · 10/04/2012 10:06

I am not going to read it, yesterday there was something on the BBC website linking autism with being overwieght!!!!

I had a similar experience to appropriately the HT at Dd3's old school was convinced she knew my child better than i did and that i was the cause of the problem.

Its all a load of crap. Imho.Grin.

Bloody ridiculous if you ask me my most able son is the one where I had severe pnd, didn't particularly like him Sad Blush for the first eight years of his life, certainly spent very little time with him and once ds3 came along spent even less. And yet against the odds he has turned out the most wonderful young man who I love dearly and will forever feel guilty for not liking him when he was small.
