Sleep walking?

Anyone know much about it? Or have any good links I can refer to.

DS sleeps longer than he used to pre-magnesium supplementation BUT now sleep walks. My Mum did it as a child and young adult but she's 75 so I'm presuming the medical advice her parents were given is well out of date by now bless.

Both my sister and I were sleepwalkers and I still do when lots on my mind.

I freaked my mother out on more than one occasion. Scrapeing at bedroom door supposedly picking berries of a tree, putting the plug in the bath and emptying the entire contents of the airing cupboard in it and turning the taps on and flooding the place! To more sombre just walking softly about with my eyes open around the house past my parents and then back to bed sound asleep.

DH knows I have been up as he can smell toast. Aparently I have breakfast on occasion Grin Few years ago I had got up washed and tumble dried the washing all folded, made myself a hot drink had breakfast the only thing that gave me away was I had left all the lights on lol. I can even write in my sleep as DH has found various reminder notes or shopping lists sprawled over the counter.

My son does it now. Quite often he is sitting bolt upright in bed with his eyes open but he is really asleep or has walked around our bedroom and back to bed. Once he was down stairs taking his toys out and arranging them on sofa then he walked back up to bed without a word.

All I know is that my mother NEVER tried to wake me but followed me around incase I hurt myself or missed a footing but aparently I never did. I dont wake my son either. If he is sat up I stroke his cheek with his fleece and that seems to send him back to curling up under the covers. If he is wandering I follow him around and let him carry on doing what he is doing. Eventually he either wakes naturally but he is distressed then if not in bed or he walks back still asleep.

I think our minds are so active we never actually do sleep iyswim.

Hahaa! I was definately awake when I posted this one lol Grin

Laundry wise that was when I had my first daughter a long time ago. I got up and thanked my then DH for doing the washing and he just looked bewildered (I was gobsmacked as he never did a thing tbh) said he didnt do it. The only one left in the house was me and he said all the lights were on all over the place when he came down. Still saved me a job during the day Grin

Did some reading around the sites on the net they do say that disturbed sleep or iregular sleep pattern or being sleep deprived can trigger sleep walking also so can some meds. Is your DS a good sleeper Boc?
