mn hq don't allow petition threads so will no doubt delete it.
why is it only people with LDS count?
what about other disabled people who need 24/7 care.

KalSkirata · 02/04/2012 10:21

agree with 2shoes. What about disabled people without LD's who need 24 hour and lifetime care. With dignity and their own choices taken into account?

Also agree with above; the 'no LD' thing ahs been used to deny us help countless times- social services don't want to know, even with 2 diagnosed (autism) and 2 in the system.

Ds3 will need care- not sure yet if 24 / 7 or supported living, but he will need something. he has no LD, even with his autism- although the IQ he has is largely unavialable to him. DS1 has the opposite of LD- top of his class in 2 subjects- not sure how much help he will need but he also has autism.

I know that LD is used to replace the old 'disabled' tit;e and I suspect this is what happened with this but whereas adult services often place all disabled people under the LD title, this does not happen with disabled children. I am sure the mortice is positive but teminology can be divisive

I had a look round a local college for 19 plus, that caters for sn,
if you have LDS you get 3 to 4 days a week, without 1 day!!
so my dd who is severely disabled would get 1 day.
they all need care and education.
