im starting to think there is little point in applying... ds is 3 and 4months no diagnosis just that he as "expressive language delay" and "social, communication, play skills delay and behaviour issues secondary to the language delay"

nursery have "no concerns" but they are alittle laid back but that suits ds tbh so i have sort of let that go but hes now 3 so i can't... he is on school action plan. i'm finding that he isn't a problem to them so they aren't bothered but he is still not where he should be.

he is generally 12months behind and in a class of 2-4s so he doesnt stand out really, he is also a copy cat so he will see a child do something, copy it then never do it again, his play with other children is stuck at chasing, if he heres a childs name called he will call it back.

SALT are assessing in a fortnight and thats when the statements ging in when i have the report from them. she said last time hes too young to do the work needed but his speech wont improve wthout alot of help. his pronunciation is odd, he swaps the first letter of words and in longer words the letter of each syllabal will be the same, he tried saying mini cooper earlier and it came out "nimi pooper" he isnt consistent either so it may come out tini tooper"

family support worker doesnt care, health visitor cares but shes exhausted everything tbh and i think she thinks its all me i worry its all me reading too much into everything he does but its so hard not to... ds as good eye contact ntil you look directly at him or ask him to look at you and his receptive language is good but his social skills are not good, he still has never said hello to anyone but can string a sentence together :(

If you do request an assessment that may lead to a statement then everyone involved with your DS, plus the Ed Pysh, will have to give their written input and you'll get a better picture of his difficulties.

It's definitely worth doing before he starts school - especially as he's already on SA+
