DS 5 dx'd ASD Delayed Expressive Language.

I need to have a good reason to keep Ed Psych involved because DS too delayed developmentally but is making progress. They said they would attend if I have one.

I feel comforted the more people involved in DS case.

Anybody got any reasons?

Oh I forgot one (although should probably try harder to):

Oops, wrong thread!

Star is right on the law.

I have some knowledge of HCC and I am afraid they do border on the application of unlawful blanket policies.

Read this

There is more to a statement than how it is funded - it sets out binding legal obligations. These obligations can be enforced by way of judicial review against the local authority irrespective of there funding criteria/policies.

It is lawful to categorise children into low/high incidence banding but it is unlawful to say children with ASD or dyslexia are high incidence

The Education Act is the sole determinant of whether a child should have a statement and if schools just take this from their LAs, well, more fool them.

That document states that schools can use judicial review if receiving insufficient funds to fulfil the provision laid out in statements.

Bet that has NEVER happened. Much easier to mislead parents.
