Radar Toilet keys.

DS will be 8 this summer and is quite tall.

His co-ordination is lousy and I have no desire to be waiting an hour for him to change in the men's after swimming lessons etc. Also he hasn't got any street smarts, so I don't really want him using men's urinals alone. We also like camping and it would be handy to be able to ensure he doesn't flood the facilities. I'm a lone Mum so no man around to oversee these activities in the mens.

I may be being a bit paranoid after that attack by those girls, but he is the type to say loudly - "hasn't that lady got big boobs?" or "why is your willy bent?" to some strange man.

Are Radar keys only for those with physical disablities or can behavioral issues be accepted as a reason to get one?

We are on MRC/LRM. He still doesn't have a proper diagnosis so I'm not sure what evidence to send off.

You do not have to give any proof at all for a RADAR key there is a small charge however.
The phone no. on my key is 02085864600 Phlexicare.
I think the company is called N&C.
If you need one don't feel worried about getting one, you should have it.

We went to one of those Shopmobility places and just had to show DS2's DLA award letter and got a key. It's not just for physical disabilities. DS2 is vulnerable as well as terrified of those hand dryers and loud flushes, so using a regular public toilet is near to impossible with him.

there are plenty of places you can get them online, no proof is required.

bochead - we didn't have to pay for it at the Shopmobility, after showing the DLA letter. For us, that was just the easiest option, as it was just off the carpark we regularly use in town anyway.

There are loads of different places you can get them. Some require proof of DLA, some don't. Some charge a small fee, some don't. It's all down to what's most convenient for you. But you shouldn't have any difficulty getting one.
