As you may have read I have had my work cut out with social services and the school trying to access an education for my daughter. I have a meeting next week, but I am still being told by social services it?s not there reasonability to provide the means to get to school or supply an enabler when she is at school. Does anyone know of any good disability rights solicitors whom can advise? We live in the south west of England.

Surely it's education rather than social care that should be paying?

HJwantstosleep, i like the nickname i know how you feel! Thats the problem no one wants to hold up there hands and take responsability, i think its a bit of both; there needs to be a compromise from both the LEA and social services. Hmm

SS doesn't have money full stop for school support. It's the LEA responsibility.
Is your SW a children with disabilities one? They should be used to this.

HI HJwantosleep, my daughter has just been appointed a new key worker they do not call themselves social workers anymore. We net for the first time last week and i am not sure what type of worker she is as i thought they deal with both disabled and none disabled people. However she was adamant that it was not there problem that my daughter is trapped at home without an education, however she said she had her work cut out this weekend and would try to find out as much as she could before the meeting next week at the school.
