Very proud, she hates talking on the phone but her wonderful friend from school called. Dd1 was worried she was sick because she wasn't at school or asking on Moshi monsters Grin. I had texted mum and so friend called.
Sounded like a very one sided conversation with dd just replying yes and no.
I know it's silly but very proud that she talked on the phone and that someone called her too.

Aww, lovely! Smile No-one has ever called DS2! I think even NT boys are a bit phone phobic.

I think I've been holding my breath since DS started at college.
He has friends. They include him in things, they leave a space for him at lunchtime. They've been on trips to Brighton and London and other places and helped him have a great time. They facebook each other and several of them regularly walk to and from college together.
It's absolutely incredible, and I don't really care if he gets A* A levels or Cs Or even if he screws up the lot despite the excellent inclusion support by staff.
He's just so happy. Grin
Lovely isn't it OP?

My son's only 3, and has autism. He doesn't like other children at all - has never played with them or shown any interest in them. He always says "I don't like boys and girls".

This week he came home from nursery and said "I really really like ..." and mentioned the name of a little girl in his class.

I just burst into tears! It's such a tiny thing, but in a way it feels like a big step forward that he's actually realised that children can be nice.

Smile That's brilliant! DS2 (8 1/2, Aspergers) has finally, finally made a friend for the first time ever during the past week or so. We've got a puppy and I think this has given him some status in the playground! Now he can talk about things that interest OTHER PEOPLE rather than his usual topic of conversation - the intricate design features of the 61 and 269 buses Grin.

Ah these threads are great Smile
Can I add to my moment. Ds 4 with severe verbal dyspraxia shys away from children as they can't understand him a lot of the time. However he came out of nursery saying he had a new friend xx. Great I said - yes we played jumping together - we put our hands in our pickets and jumped said ds... What a great game
