Eskimo oil

Sorry as I know this has been done so many times before. At the meet I spoke to Chocol8 about her ds's fish oil that he takes, which is eskimo oil.
Has anyone else taken this? Is it different from EyeQ?
We have tried so many different ones with dd and it makes her behaviour worse. Not sure whether to give it a go or not.

Thanks

Ds2 takes this and we have no problems. You only need one spoonful to get the same amount of DHA and EPA as with EyeQ as it is more concentrated.

This is the list of ingredients:
natural fish oil, natural rapeseed oil, Vit D, Vit E, antioxidants (lecithin and ascorbyl palmitate), natural-like flavouring (orange oil, lemon oil, raspberry oil, cherry oil).

I'm not sure what causes the problems with EyeQ so don't know if it is included in the above.

I tried it without success. I too had tried them all but my twin boys wouldnt take them . Well one used to take eye q in milk a couple of years ago but then went off milk and wouldnt take the stuff in juice. Recently I decided to give it all a go again. Everything failed. I then ordered eskimo oil from nutriworld on the internet. In the meantime someone else gave me a small amount which I tried to no avail. It has a tutti frutti flavour which actually smelt nice but I dont think it was a flavour that my boys were used to and I found it imposible to disguise. After that DT2 started taking the citrus flavoured eye q in juice again despite having refused it profusely until quite recently. Havent noticed any difference yet although its only been 3 weeks. Eskimo oil definitely seems to be the most highly concentrated especially in EPA which is meant to the most essential nutrient for young children. It has loads more than eye q and loads and loads more than any others I have also tried, ie haliborange and boots smart oil. I think its also the purest one and doesnt have whatever eye q has than causes some children to be hyperactive. I received my package from nutriworld but i havent even opened it. If you wanted I could send it to you .

Eye Q is mixed with Evening Primrose Oil and it's thought to have adverse effects on children with ASDs. Eskimo Oil is mixed with rapeseed so you don't get that. Also, Eskimo is made from non-farmed fish so you're less likely to get as much toxicity in the fish oil itself.

One other thing, you should avoid oils with Omega 6 because the balance is all important. Most people get enough or over of Omega 6 but it's the 3s that are lacking - if you give a combined oil with O6 you'll be disrupting that balance all over again.

For the record, J's been taking fish oils of one kind or another (currently Eskimo) for about two and a half years and he's off the map at the moment. Draw your own conclusions!
