DD (13, AS, School shite) cannot sleep. I can't think when it started but it's definitely getting worse. When she was little she slept well (apart from getting up and down a few times and into my bed until she was 6ish).

She has to be in bed by 10. I normally go up at 11ish. She is always still awake then and I hear her shuffling about (while I read and thrash around) for the next hour or so. She often tells me she was awake till 1 ish. and she says she wakes up with tummy ache durig the night too.

She has a TV in her room but she doesn't watch it when she goes to bed. She has an iPod but again, not playing with it one I've reminded her not to.

She ends up knackered in the mornings which doesn't help with trying to persuade her to get up and go to school.

Any ideas please?

We've tried lavender, baths, bedtime routines etc.

We don't let ds watch any tv 2 to 3 hours before bed and couple that with a long quiet wind down. It's been the only thing that had helped. Although as your dd is a teenager I appreciate that may not be an ideal solution for you.

I myself always take up to 2 hours to fall asleep. It's very frustrating!
