Thanks bigbluebus.
Did that include OT-type issues such as hypotonia and gross and fine motor stuff or were they only interested in purely 'medical' difficulties?
While I'm here, I've thought of another question re all this SA stuff. Does everyone see an EP or Psych as part of SA or might they go on previous EP reports if they're from an LA EP anyway?
Ds1 worked for 12 weeks of last year with the EP our LA usually uses for SA. As I understand it she is the most respected and highly regarded EP in the area. Do you think they're likely to just ask her for a report/info or is it standard practice for him to be seen again?
Just trying to gauge how many appointments he might get. Their deadline for a decision is the end of March and we've only had the medical/paed appointment through so far. I know no-one's been in to observe him in school, because he always tells me 'OFSTED' have been in his class that day if anyone comes into observe.
I was thinking we'd possibly/probably get the following appointments:
Paed/medical
OT?
EP/psych
School observation
.. but I feel like I've forgotten something?
He's doing so well at the moment, that I'm thinking they are going to either turn us down or at best we'll get a note in lieu. Frustrating, because we are just starting to hit the point where the teachers are struggling to support him as much as they were at the beginning of the year (my point to the LA being that it was lovely but unsustainable) and he has also got over his 'honeymoon period' for this school year and has started building anxieties and being more difficult for his teacher to handle. She is fab mind you, really cares, tries really hard wiht him and still does a great job, its just that the cracks are beginning to show pretty much how I predicted they would, in terms of the amount of her time and attention he needs to support him, iykwim.
Seems ironic that after all he's been through, now they are actually going to look into it and ask him his views etc, he's likely to tell them that he loves school, especially when I know that its down to this particular teaching team and unlikely to be a continuing theme.
