Literally that! does anyone know how you go about this, costs, time limits , recommendations etc.

Is it any easier than going through NHS.

I am based in East Sussex

Many thanks

Im in Glasgow so different area. But for me was best thing i ever done though was 5 years ago now. I phoned Nuffield glasgow, told them was looking for dx and my concerns with ds. They told me cost, think was £120 for initial consultation, would be more if he needed further appointments or treatments etc. I got appointment for about 5 days after i called them, and dx within half hour. Been back n forth to gp, comm paed etc, was in out hospital about 20 times. Noone could give me answers. Went private, incidentally saw doctor who works in our childrens hospital, but does private 2, i had an appointment made to see him at hospital by neurosurgeon in another hospital but my local comm paed cancelled it and said he's definetely not autistic no need to see him. Low and behold he is severely autistic so she was wrong, did apologise though and said she was looking for something else another dx.

You have to go at it from both directions. NHS and private.
I was getting nowhere on the NHS. so I paid to see the Paed privaatley. He put me in contact with his preferred Child Pyschologist. I paid her privately. School took no notice of her recommendations. Often they don't care what a private person says, they only take notice of a NHS persons opinions !!! So I went back to pead and said I couldn't afford private anymore. asked him to get me back into NHS system with a referal to CAMHS. which he did. and i got a diagnosis of AS. Once the school recieved the NHS diagnosis they took (minor) notice, having previously refuted the exact same recommendations, becasue they had been done privately.
Fight. Fight hard. Don't take no for an answer. Good luck.
