We went in he tried some on and we actually bought that pair, no complaining that they squeezed funny bits of his feet, no trying to buy them 2 sizes up because he's adamant that the right size doesn't fit him, no trouble finding slip on ones in his size, no picking by grip size...

It took minutes

I'm all Shock Grin

It's amazing the things that make you happy, lol, still he is 15, I suppose that's 14 yrs of practise before we did it painlessly Hmm

anybody else happy about something that should be straightforward anyway? lol

Know exactly what you are talking about tabulah.

I used to dread taking Dd3 into the shoe shop when she was little as I used to get the cats bum faces and people looking at me with the "can't you control that child face". [actually no I can't] lol.
Now we buy shoes online the same ones in the next size up they come into the house and sit around for a couple of weeks before she will wear them but it is so much easier than flippin Startright/clarksGrin.

Well done to your DSGrin.

Yes I remember the first time we went in and just bought shoes. He was 14. I had been putting it off for ages because I expected it to be so difficult and it just happened. Share your amazement and relief.

Thats great! I am currently going through the same style shoe every 2 to 3 weeks! They fit him but if he is anxious for some reason they dont and he pulls the velcro tighter and tighter and so they snap. But he wont put any other style shoe on his feet other than wellies and he cant live in them at school LOL.

Oh mine refastens Velcro about every 20 seconds as well, lol

eek at losing your hairdresser, I took my DS somewhere else, just because he needed a haircut before school going back and I couldn't get it done at the usualu place in time - 18 months later he still complains about it Hmm

I gave up on hairdressers when he was 4. Cut it myself since. Now he is 15 I have had enough practice to do a reasonable job. He even asks me to cut it when it gets a bit long.

coff33pot · 14/01/2012 22:49

DS hasnt had a hair cut for about 3 months now. Last time he went he asked the man "did you pick this job?" "seriously?" "so you like hurting people then?" Blush Back to surfer dude which fits seeing as we are surrounded by beaches LOL

tabulahrasa · 14/01/2012 23:22

DS likes his hair short, he hates the feeling of it touching his face more than he hates having it cut, so it's a case of him picking the lesser of two evils, lol

He also thinks that if he has it short enough he won't have to brush it - I disagree, but he tries it Hmm

So he likes to go to the same barber and get the same haircut, because apparently that barber does the same cut no matter what you ask for, for other people I suspect that's not the same selling point it is for DS, rofl
