Has anyone had an assessment at ICAN?

As the title says really - DD 5.6 was diagnosed ASD at 3.5 - it is becoming clear that her problems is primarily expressive language. She currently has one contact from SLT per half term written into her statement. I was just wondering if an assessment from ICAN would be able to get us any more SLT help at school? She had an assessment from NHS salt recently and her expressive language is definitaly way way behind her receptive - I am at a loss at what to do. Any advice from anyone who has had an assessment at ICAN would be much appreciated - Thanks

DS is same, struggles with expressive more and receptive is almost age appropriate, well almost.

I would also want ican assessment done at some point so that is documented his needs are most around expressive but not to get more input in school but to try getting a place in the language unit that currently doesn't take children with asd. I can't see DS falling behind in a mixed learning difficulties unit that geared towards asd this year and even though they have salt weekly plus 3 times a week salt delivered by ta, the salt is more around attention and listening And motivation which DS doesn't necessary struggles with but the group does....

Watching this thread with interest. I visited the school in surrey few months ago and looked fantastic, I'm just a coward to lose my son to a taxi trip of over an hour each way... That is assuming I persuading the lea that current placement is not working.

I know a few people who have had an ican assessment, and have found it v useful indeed for getting more help, and for having a thorough handle on their child's language difficulties.
