Good conference speakers ASD - any ideas?

Locally we run a annual ASD conference. Curious to know if anyone has heard any good speakers recently. If we get a big name they might do a whole day but more often we have 3-4 speakers.

I wondered about a slot on the ipad / technology. I suspect my area is still in the dark age on this and thought would be interesting for parents who can perhaps get a charity to fund an ipad etc and maybe give some professionals a kick up the bum. But I don't really want a salesperson, more a SALT etc who can actually talk about it generally rather than be linked to particular product. Also be good to have a talk on something for more severe ASD as this group not well served by conferences often.

All ideas welcome.

was also turning up to suggest Ros Blackburn, she did our conference a couple of years back and she's awesome. Also had a few psychiatrists and ed psychs, quite informative. A few years ago I went to a conference where Tony Attwood was on, but he's the dog's wotsits isn't he Grin
will inbox you another guy (allegedly i taught him, in reality soooo the other way round) local to you and currently jetting all over the world doing autism talks and advisory work.

The team at Abilitynet have some VERY good speakers re assistive technology and communications. Different staff members have different expertise in different disabilities and so ring them to get a specific name. They also know all about funding gadgets and gizmos - very handy for parents to be able to tap that expertise.

If you are interested in IT, then the lovely people from Inclusive Technology would be able to do a slot for you.
Obviously they want to sell their products but as they market a wide range from different companies, you get a balanced view.
I have many dealings with them and they never pressurise.
Most of theri team have worked as teachers or s/lts.

Proffesor Digby Tantam, I know he does talks for NAS.

Thanks everyone, some great ideas there.
The speakers can be HFA, just wanted to make sure some of the talks appeal across the board as often don't feel conferences well serve the more severe end.
Have had Ros before.
Would love Temple and she is in uk around right time but where she was speaking they were charging big bucks and we only ask for a donation!
