Anyone else notice that their ASDer is noticeably harder to deal with/more grumpy in the winter?

We have endless anxiety over the dark but he's much happier on a sunny day.

I think SAD is a big issue in my house not just with Dd3, Dd2 who is 16 seems to be affected to. Dp used to be really bad but now that he works shifts and often walks to school with us he seems a bit better.

At Dd3's old school they used to keep the children in alot due to iffy weather and i was sure that made her worse. At the new school though they are outside much more. She is so much happier in general though it is difficult to know if it was SAD before or just general unhappiness. IYSWIM.

Yep definitely! I was chatting to my mum about it (son age 7 aspergers) and shes suggested i get a light box and see if it helps him

Yes definately with DS and I also suffer terribly myself. The worst months are from now through Feb I feel. You have the hype up to xmas then everything is flat including the dark weather and your vitamins from the sunshine have run out of reservs as I put it.......

Our beauticians have a "white room" basically a giant light box with just bright light and background music it is extremely theraputic but expensive and I have on those "I could jump off a bridge days" (not literally but you know what I mean!) have used it and it is worth every penny. :)
