Someone plzzzz tell me they've been in Feb and its less busy than at other times??? Only ever been in May before and I vividly remember the crush of people to see parades and get on rides! This time we will have dd2 with us so hoping to get access card and praying for a quieter time. Staying in hotel new York.

I went 2 years ago. sorry but it was very busy - I have nothing to compare it to as that was the only time I have been. It was sunny but FREEZING cold.

I hope you have fun, but wrap up warm.

Chundle · 04/01/2012 13:08

Oh Bugger it. I guess it will be busy all year round just thought may not be as busy as it is in the warmer weather

I was there in November, and it was busy. Less so on the Monday, are you going during the weekend?

If you want to watch the parades without much hassle and pushing, pitch yourself on a curb on the parade route about an hour before it is meant to start.

We got the access pass as well, made the whole trip so much easier and nicer as no massive meltdowns over queueing, and we got to get on the rides at our own pace.

Hotel New York is ideal as just a small walk to the park, it's right outside Disney Village.

If you can afford it, do Buffalo Bills on the night time, we all enjoyed it.

And hire a pram, they are huge and even my very tall 8 year old could sit in it. Cost 8 Euros a day but totally worth it.

Wow!
I have to just share my excitement at your holiday. I want to take my kids!!
lol, would have to save up a fair bit though.

I hope you have a GREAT time. xxxx

Chundle · 04/01/2012 13:48

Thanks 5 and lol thanks him!
We are going on a thurs and coming back on a sun. Last time we stayed in Santa Fe which was fine as hardly spent anytime in there anyway but thought would treat myself to bit of luxury this time! Dd2 is really mickey obsessed so she will love it!! She won't tolerate standing still in buggy for any length of time so will have to get hubby to keep our space for the parade! I'm so excited I loved Disney last time I went with just dd1 and dd2 loves rides so should be good! Getting her off the rides may take some persuasion though.....

Ah yes, we stopped at Sante Fe, and was ok, but if we ever go again we will probably stop somewhere more upmarket. Can't complain really as I didn't pay for it anyway, my lovely dad did.

We had a hired pram from Disney and we put it on the curb to keep our space. Moved it back before it got too busy.

Have fun! Very Envy as I would love to go again.

oh, i would love to take my kids there!!!!! dd1 is obsessed with toy story, and has been asking for ages to go- just this morning i got asked, "mummy, if we were rich would you take me to disneyland paris in florida?" bless her little cotton socks, i would kill to take her to meet her idol. unfortunately its far too expensive for me to take 8 of us there Sad

Chundle · 05/01/2012 02:47

Cherrys family fund may help you out with the cost

I went three years ago at Christmas. It was so blardy cold that poor Wilfs fingers went blue! SadSome rides (as far as i can remember Indiana and Pirates) gave us a time pass instead of letting us to front and told us to come back at that time. The railway is a good way to get around. Try and keep your pass in good nick. mine got folded in my pocket and got split so i had to go and get another one!!Blush

lisad123 · 05/01/2012 13:49

wow, i want to take my girls there too. I looked and for us is £1000!

Chundle · 05/01/2012 14:11

Thanks for that lottie. It is a lot but so worth it. Apparently there's a worldtraveller website that do cheaper deals there Lisa unfortunatley I only found out this after I had booked so haven't looked at the website so can't comment on what its like but worth a look

chundle- i did think of that (have 2 children on DLA, both middle rate care and low rate mobility) and i have found a few good deals (found a 4 night trip with flights and disneyland passes for £1860) i dont know how much the family fund would be able to give towards this, i guess i could ring them and ask

Chundle · 06/01/2012 13:00

Go for it cherrys. A first award from ff is usually 800 poundish subsequent awards are around 500 pound

Chundle · 06/01/2012 13:00

Think you get more if you have two children on dla though x

Chundle. Well done! We haven't booked yet... waiting for cheques to clear. We got money for Christmas which is the only way we can afford it and may have to take up MILs offer of more money if needed! We're not eligible for familys fund :(

Chundle · 06/01/2012 16:10

Thanks creator - did u know ff have changed their criteria now so loads more people are eligible? You just need tax credits now I think ,

OP posts:
creatovator · 06/01/2012 16:43

Yes, Chundle, but thanks for letting me know. We haven't had tax credits since April last year. I think we're just over the income bracket. DH sometimes gets bonuses which we use for holidays, but not nearly enough for something like Eurodisney. Rest of money seems to disappear on living expenses!

CherrysOnTheNaughtyList · 06/01/2012 20:31

i have had two awards off family fund before, but yes, 2 children on DLA. xx
