Just wondering if anyone's dc are teary and stressy?

Ds has been been excellent this Christmas - no major meltdowns etc. When things got too much, he took himself off to his room and played music etc.

However, today, he has been very teary and bursting into tears for no reason - at least none that I can see. I asked him what the matter was but he said he was not going to tell me - I think he cannot explain it himself. He is also verbally stimming by saying the same things over and over again - arrgh!

We have not had this before as we usually get the meltdowns during the run-up to Christmas and last Christmas he just tipped some plants over and then calmed down.

Just wondering if anyone experiencing this? Do you think it is the come down from all the excitement? Any suggestions on what to do?

It always seemed to mean the start of a virus in my DS. Could it be as simple as that?

very

Ellen - good idea. Will keep an eye on him. No point asking him as he always says no unless he is really feeling unwell or hurting.

DS (9) has been very teary the last few days :( I'm putting it down to all the change at this time of year. Trying hard to make sure that I can have any routines kept to - we are at my mums for a couple of days (were at home for christmas itself) and think it is all getting a bit much for him.

DS1 normally manages Xmas etc very well, but had a meltdown in the bath on Boxing Night, kicking and splashing and going mad.

We watched Penelope (recorded from CBeebies) to calm him down, very babyish and calming for him. Smile

All routines have gone for Xmas. Can't wait for normality (ha! Grin) to resume in New Year.
