This year, as dictated by DS2, the whole family will be tucking into:

sandwiches
crisps
raspberries

Tell me we're not alone... Xmas Blush

Quite, quite alone! We will be eating chicken dippers and super noodles (if DS2 had his way.) As it is I've abandoned turkey, gone for roast chicken and will probably allow some ketchup to be involved. Xmas Grin

saladsandwich · 22/12/2011 22:56

think i maybe lucky, my ds will have carrots (tinned or over boiled) as many as i put on his plate, a bit of yorkshire pud and a few chipolatas if i peel the skin off!

Debs75 · 22/12/2011 23:12

Luckily DS is a pig and eats everything in sight.
We did however have a whole Christmas and most of winter in the dark as he would not let us switch the lights on at all

CinnamonPretzel · 22/12/2011 23:13

We've ditched the Turkey too and gone for chicken. At least that was the plan, but now we are at my Dads so whatever gets served is what we are having Hmm Boxing Day we're home so will have the chicken then.
I also have a good supply of carrots - they have to be raw for DS where as DD has to have only the brocoli tops (cooked to mush) and Spuds have to be EXTRA crispy to burnt.
DD will pick at most of it, DS will push so much into his mouth in one go, he'll almost choke, then we'll finish with jelly and ice cream. Xmas Grin

We're having a beef roast, as DS2 won't eat the meat anyway. He will eat raw carrots, cooked peas, yorkshire puddings, roast potatoes (as long as we call them "fancy chips" - which reminds me, must make sure to tell MIL this just before we eat Xmas Grin), and christmas cake (although any speck of icing must be removed from his cake or he won't touch it.

It has taken us years to get him to this point though, to be fair. He used to ONLY eat the yorkshire puddings at a roast meal and that was it. We're still working on getting him to eat the meat, so far he absolutely refuses, even though we always put a little bit on his plate.

He's a bit off his food as he's a bit under the weather, due to chicken pox, but hopefully his appetite will be back by Christmas day.

Last Christmas, it was yorkshire puddings and peas only. Xmas Grin

ouryve · 23/12/2011 08:57

Thankfully, there's enough of a Christmas meal that the boys like. DS1 will probably eat pigs in blankets, some of the ham I always cook on Christmas eve and a bit of stuffing with carrots. DS2 will eat pigs in blankets, lots of stuffing and possibly roast taties. Both will tuck into christmas pud and custard, so neither will starve.

I do get a turkey, since DH and I both love turkey - we'll just get a lot of meals out of the leftovers!

ouryve · 23/12/2011 08:59

Forgot to mention - ketchup will be mandatory Xmas Grin

Bakelitebelle · 23/12/2011 10:33

Well, we'll be having the whole works, but DS1 will be removed from the house by DH so I can cook it without being attacked or having knives thrown round the kitchen. DS will then eat the meal by himself in front of the TV (same 3 DVD's on loop for about 2 years now), as he always does, because he can't stop attacking his siblings. We never have a table cloth or any table decoration as that gets whipped off pronto. Christmas dinner has been scraped off the floor in the past - but it still tasted quite nice. Merry f***g Christmas!!

OnTheBen10DaysofChristmas · 23/12/2011 10:57

This is why I love this board.

When I told my neighbour that DS would have pigs in blankets and yorkshire puddings only, she gave me this sort of look Shock Hmm Shock. Probably because my tone intimated that I wasn't at all concerned about this state of affairs Grin

Merry Christmas!

characidae · 23/12/2011 12:01

I'm doing normal Christmas dinner for 5/6 of us - but ds will have pasta & pesto as he does every other day of the year. I'm hoping he will sit at the table with us (might need iphone to distract him) and not vomit ... we've been working hard on 'tolerating other people eating'.

Ds1 will probably eat chicken fingers (sigh) a spoon of mash, a spoon of peas, some stuffing and a yorkshire pudding and shedloads of tomato sauce.

Then for pudding a bowl of custard.

BUT he will be happy and it covers most of the food groups Grin

He would prefer a christmas pizza really (no, I have no idea either!) but I draw the line at that!

Ds2 is poorly Sad so he wont be eating much Sad

OnTheBen10DaysofChristmas · 24/12/2011 07:36

zzzzz It's amazing how many food groups can be attributed to chocolate too Grin

Becaroooo My mum did ask me if DS would want chicken dippers for Christmas dinner :) Tomato sauce is vegetables isn't it - well it's the closet that DS gets Grin

OnTheBen10DaysofChristmas · 24/12/2011 07:37

zzzz Baileys contains all required vitamins and minerals to get through Christmas Day!

kerpob · 24/12/2011 07:45

chips sausages and beans here! Also ketchup+++ No point in stressing about it - we all like to indulge at Christmas so I figure my two can have what they want rather than struggle with a roast dinner!!

TOTU · 24/12/2011 09:54

We have to refer to the turkey as 'chicken' or 2 of mine won't eat it. No veg on plates. My sister has made fancy gravy so I'll have to take Bisto and whip up a bit of that.

One of mine says he just wants chicken and gravy (and he won't eat that anyway, just asks for it then declares he's finished).

I'll be packing tins of macaroni cheese, beef ravioli and white bread with butter. Plus the obligatory ketchup and Petit Filous. Xmas Smile

I don't care what they eat as long as we have a good time, and we will!
